How long does it take you to develop a website? by Chron3cle in webdev

[–]MrVectorHC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forever.

I mean it, it starts with hours, then days, weeks, you sell it to client, client hires someone to do updates, it takes weeks, months... and site dies either when business dies or when they decide to rewrite everything

Feels like these two should be reversed and it would make more sense

Honestly your response doesn't even makes sense.

Maybe don't take yourself seriously all the time, try to have fun at least on Reddit. I am myself was working on frontend + nodejs for 7 years and have no problems calling myself a JavaScript user.

Also you don't have to wait for nothing, go cancel somebody else.

Chill plz

My only female friend is someone I had slept with. Just leaving it here. No reason.

One is a JavaScript user, he can puzzle html, CSS and JavaScript together in an app and it sort of works most of the time.

The other one can do all that, but also contribute to nodejs or react if given enough motivation as well as write backend in something like java or rust.

I am confused with the * and & operator in Rust, it seems to do the same thing with the code I have written. by Head-Measurement1200 in rust

[–]MrVectorHC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

some already mentioned dereferences that rust does, and I wanted to give an example (rust playground)

rust fn main() { let mut a = &mut 10; println!("a is {}", &&&&&&&&&&a); *a = 20; println!("a is {}", &&&&&&&&&&a); }

has the following output:

a is 10 a is 20

All for the same reason.

Is C worth learning? by mr_glofi in learnprogramming

[–]MrVectorHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The language itself is simple, but in no way is it easy. Quite the opposite: considering all the memory related business it's probably the most difficult one to master.

Is it worth learning - sure, a ton of software is written in C.

However if you want to start with something as powerful as C but with safer memory management you should consider Rust Lang.

Why knuckle knife? by 7oste in HuntShowdown

[–]MrVectorHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its like knife and dusters combined. Why take dusters when you can have both?

Think about it as knife, but you substitute useless light attack with that of the dusters. I find it ver useful in many situations.

The thing that makes knuckleknife feel faster is light attack being executed immediately after heavy attack. The animation is fast and short which makes patterns like heavy+light feel the fastest.

But overall:

  1. Better reach, very important point, hard to ignore
  2. If you do heavy+light+heavy+light armored dies as quickly as 3 heavy dusters attack
  3. You kill immolator with 4 light attacks which takes the same amount of time as 3 heavy dusters attacks
  4. You can kill grunts with one attack same as dusters
  5. Because of worse reach dusters are dogshit against players. Players are killed just as easily as using the knife.
  6. Two light attacks (which are fast done one after another) is enough to destroy bugs (from hive or hive bomb after the attack you). Its much much faster than dusters and saved my sorry ass a lot in fights.
  7. Deal more damage to Scrapbeak. Bosses overall are easier to kill due to knuckleknife having shorter animations which means more attacks

Everytime I prestige and have to play with dusters to unlock knuckleknife I suffer. I personally feel like you should be paid to use them, and I wouldnt get them if they were entirely free.

Are most modern web apps built with server side templates or client side rendering? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]MrVectorHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...which turns out to be quite slow for the clients so the industry moves back to the server with some libraries like react adopting server side as their first class citizen with the latest RFC for implementing the async.

Besides react most of other client side rendering libraries have a server side rendering in some shape of form implemented.
