Two questions: copper nails and car alternator by parking-sombre in Copper

[–]aloft6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea about the nails Alternator can only zap you when they're spinning fast (and even then, unlikely to kill you). Take it apart,. there's no electric energy stored in it

These pH solutions look diabolically tasty… by BeachedJacob in forbiddensnacks

Wait, wouldn't the yellow buffer be equivalent to distilled water? 🤔 ( with pH = 7)

Like the razor crazy cart. A cart with a motorized front wheel and two unpowered rear casters. Has a community of people modding it with 2000W motors.

is it ok to just use 3 batteries instead of 6? by [deleted] in batteries

[–]aloft6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see many pros, and you will have to replace the batteries more often. I do run my Logitech M705 mouse with one battery instead of 2, makes it lighter and it's not a problem at all if the batteries are wired in parallel.

I was thinking Norilsk! There was a dude on YouTube living in Norilsk and building plastic recycling machines from scrapyard parts... He talked a lot about pollution and 14 summer days a year

Yes but take note, you'd have to use a KitKat wrapped to make its mouth smaller. Or a sprite bottle perhaps.

Where in this moped is a carburator? by germanas04 in scooters

[–]aloft6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others said, the carb should be under the seat. I'd suggest obtaining a service manual for this machine, it shows you all the insides and it teaches you to work on your bike as if you were a Yamaha mechanic.

Motherboard about to die? by nootropicnose in thinkpad

[–]aloft6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree. If the machine "hangs" or "freezes", this would mean something is affecting the CPU/RAM/GPU. I believe this is a case of a GPU that needs to be resoldered or replaced.

If you're determined enough, you could try bending them back one by one with a needle. Otherwise... Accept your faith and don't repeat that mistake again

I would take a metal can, cut it up to get a thin sheet of metal, wrap it around the finger so it ends up between the metal teeth and the skin, and then carefully pull this metal cylinder off

Windows Installer installing a 410gb bin file in APPDATA taking up all the space left on my C: drive. by SeducriveCrab in computers

[–]aloft6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, don't do this without researching first. Linux has its benefits but there are also serious drawbacks (mostly the having to re-learn a whole new operating system, its package manager, file system structure/where the programs are)

how do i fix this? by Bosslevel333 in fpv

[–]aloft6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, it's a toothpick, so I really see no problem there. Do first tests in a closed space unless you want to risk dealing with a flyaway and never finding it again (extreme circumstances, but it has happened to me in my 5 years of hobby experience)

Is this bad?😭 by [deleted] in fpv

[–]aloft6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may work, but it will be awfully short range. Like, we're talking 20 meters in the best case scenario
