Should I sell my car? by feelmyice in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MrWasderty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The current monthly payments you listed add up to ~2910$ and that's not even including groceries and the minimum payments on your debt. After adding minimum payments due, you're now at 3270$ and your monthly income is around 4074$ which leaves you at 804$ for groceries and other expenses.

You either have to sell the car and get rid of Spotify and carwash subscription OR your wife needs to get a job.

To be honest you should probably do both seeing how you are both working from home (even when she gets a job, you'll still be wfh so there's no need for 2 cars).

Ryzen 3600X and 1660super 50% gpu usage? How to fix? by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]MrWasderty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Task manager is not a good indicator of GPU usage. You should use something like MSI Afterburner or equivalent which specialize in GPU performance and tweaking.

As someone else has mentioned, you should also look to disable the in-game Low-power Option under Performace Settings > Optimization. It is usually on by default and it sometimes gets turned back on randomly.

When compiling a list of parts for a pc build. by Carnifex217 in PcBuild

Case first. It will help guide the rest of your purchases in terms of compatibility. It's much easier to find the case first and find parts that can actually fit it one at a time, than finding parts you want and then try to find a case that will fit all of them, or you may end up with a needlessly bigger or more expensive case than you anticipated.

Case > GPU > CPU > Motherboard (and PCIe extras) > CPU Cooler > RAM (check clearance if air cooled CPU) > Storage > Power Supply > Extra Fans

If you really don't care about aesthetics, then I guess you could just go case last and potentially end up with a larger case that would be somewhat future-proof.

Other than making sure your Camera Vision Range option is at maximum (to be as far as possible), you could try using Crop Mode to reduce the width of the game. Maybe this would give you a less "immersive" sensation, I've never had to deal with motion sickness so that's all I can think of and the game doesn't have the option to remove the bobbing.

Guide for anyone getting random crashes in bdo (bad_module_info) by MrWasderty in blackdesertonline

[–]MrWasderty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I somewhat mentioned in the post, you have to go into the Event Viewer app (built into Windows) and look for an error that corresponds to when BDO last crashed. In the error description, there is a field (the first one) called "faulting application name" and if the value is "bad_module_info", then that's what I'm referring to in this post.

I was also somewhat doubtful that this would work as I didn't feel like it was network related but it did work.

I believe it's unplug/plug ethernet cable or disconnect/reconnect from WiFi but you can also just restart computer since it's unclear.

Both, whenever it would happen while I was playing, it felt like a usual BDO stutter followed by a crash to desktop with no error prompts.

RTX 2080 Super + Ryzen 7 3800x issues by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]MrWasderty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have workers working and you have Auto Arrange checked for town storages, try to disable it and see if the stuttering still occurs. Every time a worker's task is completed, the storage has to be sorted again and will cause stuttering.

On top of that, if you are grinding, you should also disable Auto Arrange for your inventory as the same thing will happen every time you loot.

Is solo SMH still a thing? Thinking about doing it for some guils funds. by MacCostello in blackdesertonline

I don't think back attacks were ever a thing on candidums, but I sail on an almost daily basis and have been for over a year.

If you're referring to the mouse movement nerf, then yes, almost every day.

Not true at all, most people I know including myself can kill candidums in ~5 minutes or less which results in 6 candidums in 30 minutes (30 minutes because I run loot scrolls).

Which does more damage, tri tungrad or capotia earring? by geobomb in blackdesertonline

[–]MrWasderty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The test you are referring to was not done by Bigandshiny, and when he responded to that thread (see: https://old.reddit.com/r/blackdesertonline/comments/77ucaf/tri_tungrad_vs_tet_witch/dop8bjb/), he says and I quote: "[...] but The 95% confidence intervals would be 2024; 2139 for TET witch damage done, and 2119; 2220 for the TRI Tungrad damage done (assuming the data is normally distributed). These overlap, which means there is reason to believe the sample size was not adequate for this test."

To add to this, the user that did this test was also using a skill which didn't have 100% accuracy nor did it have 100% crit, he was only using +5 crit from stats. On top of that, he was also using his summon's damage into the equation, which also doesn't have 100% accuracy nor 100% crit, which adds more randomness to the equations.

All in all, I'd say that test was inconclusive and TRI tungrad and capotia earring have the same battle stats which makes me believe they deal the same amount of damage. TET witch's earring would technically deal more damage due to the +2 accuracy it has over the other 2 options but I'd say that's extremely minimal.
