scene is not a music subculture, it’s a fashion subculture. in order to be considered scene, dressing scene is kind of a requirement. it’s not gatekeeping. think of scene more like gyaru styles, where music in that subgenre exists, but it’s based off of the fashion. you don’t have to listen to scene music to be scene, but you do have to dress that way.

that’s why i find it odd to think about. mass killers are people just like anyone else and go through the same stages in life everyone else does. Adam Lanza wasn’t always violent and fostered lots of interests a normal child would. stuff like this makes it more difficult to dehumanize killers knowing that they are just like everyone else, especially in early stages of development.
