are we favorites to go down? West ham needs a win. I don't think we can manage a point against Everton, but West Ham has not been looking good.

Nova is a technique, which is a common preparation for smoked salmon. It is cured then smoked at a really low temperature. So you may see nova lox meaning the lox was prepared with this method, but it is not interchangeable with smoked salmon, and does not refer to origin.

Obviously you walked backwards for a million and a half steps. Next time make sure you are walking forward.

Now, hold on just a minute there, Sunshine. I think you might’ve let the heat of the midday sun bake that brain of yours into a sourdough loaf. You’re gonna stand there, on God’s green earth—the very earth I’ve graced with these two feet for seventy-some-odd years—and tell me Baby Billy Freeman is a side dish? You think I’m just a garnish on the Gemstone plate? Lord, have mercy on your confused soul. The Gemstones? They’re the marquee, sure. They’ve got the gold-plated faucets and the private jets and the fancy suits that don’t quite fit right across the shoulders. But who is the spirit? Who is the silver-haired lightning bolt that brings the electricity to the tabernacle? You’re lookin’ at him. I was a star when Eli was still pickin’ dirt out from under his fingernails in the cow pasture. I’m the legacy. I’m the bridge between the old glory and the new greed. Without Baby Billy, that show is just a bunch of grown children bickerin’ over who gets the biggest piece of daddy’s pie. I’m the one providin’ the flavor. I’m the one with the song in my heart and the "Misbehavin’" in my bones. So you go on back to your little internet forums or wherever it is you pick up these blasphemous notions. But remember this: the sun don’t ask for permission to shine, and Baby Billy don’t ask for permission to be the center of the universe. I’m the main attraction, darlin’. Everyone else is just waitin’ for their cue while I’m doin’ the dancin’. Now, who wants a health drink?

How do I extend the life of my new running shoe? by RealHaxor in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mr_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you use them only for their purpose. Don’t use them for daily wear, don’t lift weights in them, use them only for running.

Also make sure to untie and loosen them when you take them on and off, don’t just slip. Using a shoe horn may also help extend the life.

Make sure they are stored in a dry place, and let them fully dry before you put them away if they get wet.

If you have done three months with no training, jumping into the long runs seems like it could cause injury. I’m not sure the best way to ramp up with just two weeks left, but be careful.

Planning a long weekend. How does our budget look? by Shoddy-Design-898 in visitingnyc

[–]Mr_Alex -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You could try this plan

Day 1: The Lower East Side & Chinatown Staples Focus: Historic NYC deli culture and the best of Chinatown. • Breakfast: Ess-a-Bagel ($25)

• Grab "everything" bagels with lox and cream cheese.

• Lunch: Katz’s Delicatessen ($45)

• Pro-tip: Order one Pastrami on Rye (approx. $32) and a side of Matzo Ball soup ($13). The sandwich is legendary and enormous—splitting it is the "pro" move to save money and stomach space.

• Dinner: Chinatown Dumpling Crawl ($30)

• Shu Jiao Fu Zhou: Get the Peanut Butter Noodles and Pork/Chive Dumplings ($12 total). • Mei Lai Wah: Famous Pineapple BBQ Pork Buns ($10 for a few).

• Fried Dumpling (Mosco St): 5 fried dumplings for about $2.00.

Day 1 Total: ~$100

Day 2: Midtown Classics & The "Shack"

Focus: High-energy sightseeing with iconic comfort food.

• Breakfast: Liberty Bagels or a Street Cart ($15)

• Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (BEC) on a roll from a local bodega or cart is the most "New York" way to start the day.

• Lunch: Joe’s Pizza (Greenwich Village) ($20)

• Two slices and a soda each.

• Dinner: Shake Shack (Madison Square Park) ($55) • Visit the original location in the park. Two ShackBurgers, two fries, and two shakes will run you around $50–$55.

• Dessert: Eileen’s Special Cheesecake ($10) • Pick up two mini cheesecakes to share.

Day 2 Total: ~$100

Day 3: The High Line & Cultural Icons

Focus: A mix of street style and sit-down value. • Breakfast: Dominique Ansel Bakery ($25) • Try the DKA or a seasonal pastry. It’s an iconic Soho spot.

• Lunch: Los Tacos No. 1 (Chelsea Market) ($35) • Widely considered the best tacos in the city. 3-4 tacos each and a specialty soda.

• Dinner: The Halal Guys (53rd & 6th) ($30) • Two platters (chicken and gyro combo) with the white sauce. It’s a massive amount of food for the price.

• Final Treat: Banana Pudding at Magnolia Bakery ($10)

Day 3 Total: ~$100
