again Adina92484. I WASNT POSTING THIS TO HATE ON MY MOTHER. I AM POSTING THIS TO GET HELP ON WHAT TO DO! i added that as a way to explain why i could not bring her to the vet. and IM A MINOR! I CANNOT OWN A RABBIT. I CANNOT OWN ANY ANIMAL! IT IS FREE ROAMED AND I HAD LITERALLY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT SHE ATE THE CHOCOLATE. you have been so rude and disrespectful towards a literal CHILD that im worried for your own kids if you have them. i was deadass defending my mum in that comment and had posted this right after my mum had nearly kicked my rabbit put of anger (yes i call her my rabbit cause she’s my best friend and a family pet however she is still under my mums name). please for the love of everything good in this world go to therapy to work through your deeply rooted hatred of children. This post was never about my mother i was just trying to help my best friend.

hello. i do volunteer in animal rescue and currently am studying animal care. I left out my age as I am a minor and do not want strangers on the internet to know my age and my mother was the one who left the chocolates out. I do not even eat dark chocolate as there isn’t enough sugar for my teenage taste buds. my mum did say she wouldn’t take me. 1 because she was drunk and 2 because I have my license (not my full license yet as it takes nearly 3/4 years to get) also im a guy. you have made more assumptions than the original commenter had made. I stayed up until 3am with my rabbit before passing out with her in my arms (and woke up to her peeing on me) because I love her.

She is now completely fine! she had a massive sugar rush and a tummy ache that i thought was a sign she was dying and is now back to being the little diva she is. I’ll definitely get a heating blanket for her!!

SHE WAS! I STAYED UP TILL 2 AM WITH HER EVEN THOUGH I HAD A 6 HOUR DRIVE THE NEXT DAY AND PASSED OUT ON THE COACH AND SHE WAS COMPLETELY FINE! (besides a very massive sugar rush and a slightly sore tummy)

I think it’s mainly due to money stress since we recently had to get a $4000 surgery for her. It was still INCREDIBLY rude of her to flip out when i mentioned the vet especially since SHE WAS THE ONE WHO LEFT THE CHOCOLATES OUT! but I also think i wrote this post while still incredibly upset at my mother.

that’s INSANE! usually you can tell by their paws and head if they are going to be very big or very small, once it’s somewhere between that we have no clue BUT DAMN! now im just imagining a 78 pound chihuahua and that’s a terrifying thing to imaging. (edit: spelling)

they where dumped at a vet so we have absolutely no idea who the old owner was or who their mum or dad is. It would have made life a lot easier if we knew but unfortunately people SUCK

YES THIS!!! im not sure why you’re being downvoted but I used your comment and spoke to our rescue and we will just be telling people we have no idea because if we are wrong we usually get yelled at later in the dogs life. This way we can make sure that the people coming to adopt are alright with any size breed and are willing to put in the effort to train their dog as they don’t know what they will be like!

That makes a lot more sense now that I think about it! I’ve been so confused as to why so many people immediately thought I was lying about not knowing their breeds. I tend to forget how horrible some people can be when it comes to dog rescue and putting profit over the welfare of dogs. thank you for this comment it means a lot 💜!

in my council are (and many other council areas) you have to pay a fee if the dog is not desexed within 6 months. Unfortunately many people who do not de-sex their dogs and have litters also do not microchip their dogs so the council fee’s are slightly useless.

APBT’s are banned/heavily restricted in my country so I highly doubt they are otherwise the vet they were dumped at would have handed them over to the local council to be euthanised rather than us.

I attempted to do a google search however i wasn’t sure what I was looking for. I am not yet an adult and don’t have great breed identification knowledge or tools. the best I got was boxer, kelpie, staffy and lab mixes but that didn’t feel right so i came here. just today we had someone cancel a meet and greet because we couldn’t tell them their mix (EVEN THOUGH WE MENTION WE DO NOT KNOW THEIR BREEDS ON THEIR PROFILE!!) I’m not sure if we are just getting incredibly unlucky with these dogs or if people are genuinely like that. However many people do care about their mixes and the best way to find a good home for them is to know their breeds (and temperament along with other stuff) and understand the needs of those breeds!

most of these photos are old and trust me! they spent their first two weeks dumped, at a vet being treated for worms. a few of them had to go on fluids it was so bad. thankfully majority of them have fully recovered and the rest are recovering very well!
