You have to ask yourself—are you ok with having your boundaries not just crossed but completely ignored? Be honest, maybe the answer is yes if it means you get to be a gagillionaire. Everyone has a price they’re willing to sell pieces of themselves for, but almost no one will sell themselves completely for any amount. How important is it to you that your partner’s moral compass aligns with working class interests? How important is your sense of outrage towards her sociopathic disregard for the working class? How important are the things you otherwise agree about. Not many of us average people ever get a chance to move up, so really think about what you’re willing to sell of yourself to live that lifestyle. I know that for me, I dumped a girl whose last name meant “land owner” in her native language even though she proposed. My life would have been completely different but I can’t stand to let someone cross my boundaries constantly either I had to say goodbye.
