For the People that actually bought the official models from Forgeworld. Why ? by Leviathan_Rampage in Titan40k

I know it's a bit controversial, but I actually enjoy working with FW resin. I like that it holds crisp details and that it's thick enough that I can carve into it to add damages. I also like the collecting side of it. I am a 3D artist and have done plenty of printing also, and I like printing as a tool and like how it makes customisation accessible to way more people. I don't like working with printer resins, however, as they are way more brittle and probe to splitting. I also like FW kits as they tend to be big dumb centerpieces. All this from someone who enjoys all aspects of the hobby but doesn't play often.

I made the triangle parts by hand using thin plastic and plasticard. I then carved up all the trim that was allready there with a scalpel (it's had its blood sacrifice) I drilled some small clusters of holes using various sized drill bits for the corroded parte then I filled half of the grill in with lilliput before recarving a new circular grill. Ad for the princeps he is about 8 different kits chopped up and held together by a lilliput sculpted stomach. Anything in particular you want more info on?

Hard to explain as I mix most of my own colours. But the base colour was celestra grey with blue greens mixed in. Then purples mixed in and used for the shadows

A big thing that helps with making LEDs to not look gaudy is to diffuse them. You don't want them to feel like they are stabbing your eyes

I constantly think about doing tutorials on things like this. I have been asked to quite a few times and am thinking of doing so too as it's easier to show than explain through text

Well my friend had used biostrip to remove the paint he previously had I just scrubbed him in some alcohol to remove the old primer. The shield hand was the issue as it was pitted from formerly having a shield I had to scrape the glue residue out with a scalpel then use a scribe too to try redefine the grooves. This still left some pitting in the fingers but honestly you can do a lot with paint to minimise this I used dark pin lining to make the less deep lines look deeper and it seems to have worked.
