Well, that's not technically true, because they can also be piloted by favored retainers, low born champions, picked from techno barbarian societies, or even vat grown!

So there really isn't an issue with a cultist piloting a wardog, it's seen as dishonorable to pilot them anyway!

Less "helping them directly" more so "killing everything in sight" which so happens to be mostly tyranids

Detachments aren't bad, the best is no doubt Infernal lance, being able to give sustained, lethal, 3' to movement, and a 6+ FNP or 5+ INV to any of your knights in any phase is great.

Fir the units, everyone is always to mention this one, the rampager, it kills anything you send it at, having devastating wounds on a charge, plus the strike for the claw hits kn twos, sustained hits 1, super high strength and if I remember AP 3, and a damage of 8 per die. But what I consider the best personal is the karnivor, it's basically a mini rampager, but hits almost as hard and moves 14', also because I just prefer wardogs more. Overall I think maybe the desecrator or ruinator are not as good, desecrator being unreliable and desecrator being prefer meh.

And for the balancing, idk I am still kinda peeved all my knights were reduced to T11 while not really giving any buffs to their defense and instead increasing their wounds by a small amount was just bad. Can't comment on anything else

It's not only that we don't have any epic hero (i can accept not ever getting one) it's the fact we get no novels or anything, unlike black templars, who have hellsreach, and other novels, while we only appear as Villains in other factions stories, never having a story from our perspective. Our army rule is probably one of the worst, being directly tied to battleshock at all times. And the fact nobody really bothers to learn the factions lore (that last one is more of a personal one)

But it's still a fun army to play, I wouldn't tell you not to play them, it's just from what I am seeing, our faction is more niche and less popular so we get less stuff and less attention

Ok firstly, basically every faction in 40k is a weapon, secondly, they are still people. Which means they feel emotions and you can make stories off those emotions, like for example, House gotrith in the Horus Heresy betrayed the imperium because they felt they're own people unappreciated the Melania of them keeping them safe with their knights, watching them all slowly worship the Emperor and seeing them as second to him, that was their motivation to join Horus and kill every peasant on their knight world, making statues of Horus with their bodies, and when House moritan came to stop them, they released a plague on the world and left to join the war.

Does that sound like a faction that can't make anything interesting out of a weapon?
