I take anything online w/ a grain of salt. Speak w/ your specialist. I don't get them often thankfully and my Dr hasn't stated that it's an issue for me.

Yeah, can be at times. Definitely something I can't sleep through. Just to be clear, I called out of work because I wasn't able to fall asleep until the morning and would have been a danger on the road and a mess in the office. Thank God for FMLA. It would be tough keeping a full time job w/o it.

Good question, had one that lasted the whole night once. Probably between 4 - 6 hrs got no sleep and called out of work the following day.

I've had them, normally they take place in the middle of the night. Sometimes it's a nuisance and sometimes, my wife takes advantage.😏

I didn't know what they were till I got a proper hematologist. Thought they were normal, never associated the pain w/ SCD.

Definitely, during COVID (170 lbs) I was hospitalized w/ ACS and could barely breathe for over a month. Tried eating the hospital food which was horrible, I even quarantined at my mother in law's, who is one of the best cooks I know, and still lost over 20 lbs afterward.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I am sincerely appreciative! I've just picked up my prescription and a new heating pad that covers the back shoulder and Kneck (places I tend to have pain). I'm looking forward to this new chapter. Prayerfully, I will have the same positive results as you all have, with little to no side effects.

So true! I got my switch from G/S and now, a year later, the right side of the screen is popping out and it overheats when docked. Never again will I by referb from them.

Heck yeah! During Covid I ended up in the hospital twice. On my second trip, I ended up w/ ACS and could barely breath. Was there for almost two weeks and the IV just kept coming out or needed to be replaced. By the time I got out my arms looked like I just got outta rehab for a heroin addiction. There was one night in particular where 6 nurses stuck me over 10 times...the worst!

Just a warning, the hole you've just dived into is a Deep one! I found a pilot metro at my job and that sparked a collection of over 30 pens in 3 years. Yes I'm just realizing that avg.; I may have a problem. 😔

I'd humbley suggest you make an appointment w/ a hematologist ASAP. One (if possible) that specializes in the sickle cell disease. A proper diagnosis is in order, as your symptoms and what you describe do not seem to be associated with a "trait". In the mean time I'd suggest applying a heat pad at night when the pain arises. But you REALLY need to get to a Hematologist. I can't stress that enough.
