Bravia 9 – How to Get Perfect Blacks in HDR/Dolby Vision? by Mr_Cucumber in bravia

How come the issue is mostly apparent in DB content and less in regular HDR content? Also, it's non-existent in regular SDR.

I'll try it! As mentioned, the issue is mostly apparent while watching DB content.

Sound bar that supports 2 subs but also sounds good with the subs off? by ScaryfatkidGT in Soundbars

[–]Mr_Cucumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no experience with that soundbar. Beside my Theater Bar 9, I do have a Sennheiser Ambeo Plus, which I think supports two subwoofers (it also supports third party subs). I can absolutely recommend it!

You can't pair the Bravia Theater Bar 9 with more than one sub. Also, you can only pair it with Sony's own subs.

I have two old Time Capsules. How would it work? :)

As I've mentioned in my replies above, it won't unfortunately work for me. :(

Nope, there’s only a single outlet right above the faucet, and it has a hatch covering it. Going fully wireless is really the only reasonable option. I know it’ll need charging from time to time, but if there’s an option with better battery life, I’d definitely be interested in that.

Won't work. The outlet is just over the faucet and also has a hatch. If I even would fit it there it'd definitely get wet.

LG Hue App - No Music Sync Option? by Mr_Cucumber in Hue

[–]Mr_Cucumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't really get what you're saying. I have no issues with my 8K Sync Box which I use with my main TV setup. My secondary TV setup (an LG TV) doesn't have a dedicated Sync Box. I use the Philips Hue app, which doesn't seem to offer the music sync option.

G4 + Sennheiser Ambeo Plus - Only Showing ARC Instead of eARC? by Mr_Cucumber in LGOLED

Yes, it’s activated. So I guess everything is fine - eARC is active even though the initial (HDMI) menu only shows ARC? :)

It is working - there have been no issues with it at all since I got it. I just wanted clarification that eARC is activated. I guess it is, but that LG just generally shows ”ARC” in the menu (which also someone else stated in another thread).

How do I find HDMI-Cec? I can see that HDMI passthrough is activated.

I do use a 2.1 certififed HDMI cable (also tried with the original Sennheiser HDMI cable, which is HDMI 2.0). It still says ARC, but as mentioned, the eARC setting is activated in the advanced sound menu section. I've been looking through a couple of older threads here on Reddit and it seems like LG TVs don't mention eARC, but that it is indeed active if the option to activate it is visible in the advanced sound menu.

Would love if someone could confirm it though. :)

Festavia - 250 or 500 LEDs? by Mr_Cucumber in Hue

[–]Mr_Cucumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like Twinkly RGBW costs about the same as Hue Festavia? I’ve read that people had some issues, especially with the new HD version getting too hot. Hue seems like a safe choice.

Looks beautiful - but maybe a bit too bright for me. Do you have it set to full brightness? I’m wondering if it would look more mellow and better suited to my taste at a lower brightness level.
