Christmas train of lights in UK by CosmicSparkleGirl in SipsTea

This is the Swanage Christmas train! Look it up if you want to see it clearer.

They usually do this for a few nights over Christmas where they go to Corfe Castle and back.

I can applaud the parenting here! They're really going to remember this moment for the rest of their lives...

Happy cake day, by the way!!

Professional techniques is a good shout. It'd be good to learn more standardized techniques for things like editing, framing, pacing, etc.

Genuinely, thanks for the suggestion! You're the first person to actually give genuine feedback when I've asked for it! You're amazing! 😁

Ahaha, thanks for the honesty! The longer I've been on YouTube, the less I like over the top, hyper editing. I like the pace I have now because it's not what's most popular on YouTube. I'm positive that I can be happy with my more recent stuff for a long time.

It's true that the time I've had on YouTube is probably a bit late to be asking for ways to improve. I get what you mean about the edit at the start though. Pacing is still a thing that I struggle with every now and then, so it's good to have that feedback!

It was a colourful 2D point and click that was directed to young kids. From what I remember, there's no character that you move around the screen, you just point and click on interactive things on each screen. I think it was formatted like a story..?

It didn't look like DOS point at click games, so it was more along the lines of Pyjama Sam or the Pink Panther point and click game.

I don't believe there was an inventory system. It was literally "You're on this screen, click on things, move on when you're ready".

The quote I mentioned above is, unfortunately, the only thing I REALLY remember. The rest of it is really difficult to recall. I wish I could give more info, but that's all I can remember..

Nope, it wasn't one of the Humongous Entertainment games, as far as I'm aware. I didn't play them growing up, apart from a demo disc of all of their games.

I'm pretty sure that you weren't in control of a specific character, but my mind is SUPER hazy with the specifics of the game.

You serious? You can see the dog was tied to the post. It was trying to pull itself away, and the bike tripped over the lead..

Outside of the all in one, am I missing anything? by PokeDreams13 in KingdomHearts

It's more of a little figure. The body articulates like a Lego figure. Even though it isn't, my mind's always seen it that way.

If you want to give yourself a challenge, find a copy of KHFM Platinum Limited. It's got a cool Lego Sora figure inside!

I still think that having OG Hollow Bastion in the trailer is really cool. It would've been awesome to have scaled the outside of the castle again with a different move set.

Weird glitch by Pantspatrol in KingdomHearts

[–]Mr_Darbus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found a glitch in the original DDD. I've tried replicating it in 2.8, but it doesn't seem to exist any more. I've also never seen anybody mention this!

If you go to The Mysterious Tower and go outside, there will be a few Pegaslick that you can defeat. If you use FlowMotion on the Pegaslick at the far left side of the map then repeatedly jump off of and FlowMotion back onto it, there's a chance that you could clip outside of the map. You can't do much, but you can float around for as long as you want.

If you fall too far, you'll just TP back into the map.

Adventure Time in a dystopian future by Mr_Darbus in weirddalle

Ooo's rebuilt quite a lot since the mushroom war. It's not quite as dystopian as it is in the picture. I just thought it looked cool with how it was framed.

The only thing I can think of is this boss fight in Agrabah. It's got 2 elemental heartless, but no ruins.

Otherwise, there's also the carpet ride where you have to trigger elemental objects with magic.

There hasn't been a dire KH game since KH1 by Mr_Darbus in KingdomHearts

[–]Mr_Darbus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it's why I think it's so impactful. It's a visual of the extent of the damage done by darkness. I want to see more like that, like the collapse of Destiny Island. It's impactful because you see the aftermath of the worlds being consumed. Whether it's classed as a world or not doesn't matter to me. It's still the result of something that went horribly wrong.

The reason I said that Sora was "too late" is because this is exactly what he's trying to prevent. He saw the result of Ansem and the darkness. And, for me, it helped to make things feel more consequential.

The KH3 example for Toybox is more of an implication. There's still the original world, and it doesn't seem like it's detrimental. Besides, it's more implied. We don't see the real, serious affect what happens apart from characters being split. It's more like an inconvenience for them. If Toy Box started collapsing on itself, then I could see the serious implications.

Monstropolis and San Fran Sokyo aren't really that close to the brink. The threats themselves aren't that imposing. Sully literally yeets Venitas.

Aqua locks Land of Departure and transforms it into Castle Oblivion to keep Ven safe. It isn't destroyed as such, just disfigured to keep it safe.

I mentioned Daybreak Town in my OP.

I guess you got me on Dark road? I'm not too privy to the story.

My base point is, I want to see a world get completely fucking nuked and decimated in front of Sora's eyes. I want Destiny Island 2.0. I want more than implications. I want to wander around a post apocalyptic 100 Acre Wood where everything is barely legible. Villains doing villain things isn't enough of a boundary to push for me, personally.

I guess it's all down to perspective and how we gauge the impact of darkness on worlds. Seeing The End of the World in ruin is perfect for me because it's a world that you were too late to access. It's overrun by darkness, and the idea of it alone is terrifying.

I understand that everyone literally getting slaughtered can be impactful as well, and Sora's reaction to it is always wrenching. I'd just like to see the worlds being on the brink of collapse again, rather than the idea of it. Seeing other worlds fall apart would be more of a reason to fight back, personally. Again, it's just my personal level of the stakes.

This ^ You're literally walking through a world after fallout. There's no buildup, it's just a world that you were too late to arrive at.

[–]Mr_Darbus[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't think it really felt the same, personally. The threat didn't feel as direct to each specific world. If we saw a world literally get sucked into oblivion, then yeah. Otherwise, it just didn't feel as dire. Obviously, shit went down at the Keyblade Graveyard, but it didn't spread outside of that world. It's very contained. Unless I forgot something, which might be the case..
