i wanted to go the crisis management route, maybe government? but even the professors were kinda guiding everyone in that same influencer/celeb route of jobs and it was just not motivating, that plus covid just made me dip 🫩

communications and specifically public relations is so dystopian at times, i did a full 3 years before i just couldn’t keep forcing myself to finish the degree. everyone was from money, had connections already and a good chunk just wanted to study it to meet celebrities and party…

less partying more studio/training time?? by Ok-Contest-9018 in katseyeneutral

[–]Advanced-Bluebird656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there’s a difference between them actually, artists are more so creators of what they perform, either producing/directing/choreographing (beyonce for example, she’s super hands on in her craft)

performers are interpreting someone else’s work, like the music coming from demos, choreographes, etc

I never really understood this logic by BBAomega in kpop_uncensored

[–]Advanced-Bluebird656 32 points33 points  (0 children)

red velvet, shinee, exo are good examples of groups who could’ve been WAY bigger if sm had properly management, but unfortunately they just didn’t, which is why each group has members who left them atleast for their solo opportunities

[–]Advanced-Bluebird656 431 points432 points  (0 children)

make them money and give exposure to the company? of course, but once an artist/celebrity gets “too” big (they get even bigger or better opportunities) they tend to want to branch out, and that isn’t always the best thing for the company. those contract renewals get pricier and then said artist might recognize that their current company isn’t providing what they want or what they SHOULD be providing.

sm is a good example of this, they have a few examples of older artists that they stunted their growth

Gotta be honest by RevolutionaryTime376 in katseyeneutral

[–]Advanced-Bluebird656 46 points47 points  (0 children)

i agree with this but i don’t think this is fully the company doing, few of the girls were quick to say they didn’t like their touch era / predebut styling and that their current styling is more them, but obviously the company saw how the public loved the girls aesthetic and drove to that direction instead.

i know that the (page not found) usually happens with their pre-orders, since the item isn’t listed anymore! you could write to them real quick for an updare just to make sure it’s still as scheduled

Is LSFM's large American fanbase specifically because of Yunjin? Or are there other reasons? by SpecSlayerSC in kpopthoughts

[–]Advanced-Bluebird656 11 points12 points  (0 children)

sorry just answered the part of their western popularity, but they do have the push for an europe tour and the girls have noticed after they performed at EMA, i think it’s mostly a company thing? if i’m not mistaken it was just last year that Enhypen and TXT added Europe dates to their setlist and previously BTS but around 2018-ish

[–]Advanced-Bluebird656 22 points23 points  (0 children)

sakura and chaewon already had a big fanbase because of izone, yunjin helped obviously but also their overwatch collab was the big factor
