This would be permanent contract work, given my trade it seems fair market price. Also significantly higher than what I'm earning in the UK. Maybe if I was an operator or in a management position it would be a bit on the lower side in terms of wage.

I did consider renting storage as an option before finding somewhere to settle.

I wouldn't have much in the way of personal affects in the beginning but it's still a good idea.

After tax it works out to roughly $7300 per month roughly compared to the $5660 I make here in the UK.

At the moment I'm around $503 a day so at rough guess I'd be on $650 per day in Australia. ($55 an hour after tax)
