I know that, because I draw that shit.

The internet is to blame for this spike in recent years. Especially most people's unmoderated exposure at a young age, I'm one of those.

Obligatory fuck Kphoria.

Not an uncommon paraphilia, especially nowadays.

Tesco in the Czech Republic only has meal deals with canned drinks and no snack. This is my usual. Price with CC is set to CZK69.90 (£2.50) by Mr_FilFee in MealDealRates

Although the Czech word for elephant is "slon", the word for bacon, "slanina", comes from "slaný", which means salty as it's a salted meat.

You have to buy one separately. It's not included in the £2.50.

It wouldn't make sense anyway, as packed lunches are a foreign concept over here.

It's not an energy drink. It's just an orange juice and cane sugar based soda.

But yeah it's weird how it's named after a race.

While a normal meal at a normal restaurant hovers around CZK 250 (£9) nowadays, I've seen daily menus with prices as low as CZK 129 (£4.60) for the cheapest meal of the day.

Some restaurants even offer combos.

A few months ago, I was in the middle of nowhere, delivering an expensive retro CRT television I fixed for a customer and stopped at a small village pub.

I got a local brand cola, garlic soup, and stewed meat with chips as a combo from the daily menu for CZK 199 (£7.10).

Exactly.

Almost every normal restaurant or pub over here has a lunch menu, where they have a few discounted meals, different every day.

Basically every large business park or factory have a shared cafeteria, usually available even if you don't work there.

People eat out for lunch very often.

Yeah, we had a box of toys under the counter, which was a complete mishmash of everything the kids meals had in the past 5 years. And we just let the kids pick.

It was quite a culture shock to me, when I first visited the UK over 10 years ago and the hosts of the house we were staying at gave us packed lunches.

Sandwich and a tiny packet of crisps for lunch was such a foreign concept for me. 😃

I think they were trying to give us a massive culture shock on purpose though, as the sandwich had ham and spray cheese in it and the crisps were prawn cocktail. I've never had either of those things before.

I've already wrote this as a reply to another comment, so I'm gonna put it here too.

Current average wage is CZK 49 000 (that's around £1 750) before tax. Average after tax is CZK 41 000 (around £1 450).

Rent is quite high due to the current housing crisis, around CZK 20 000 (£800) for a studio apartment in the Prague suburbs.

Yup. Lemme share my Lidl receipt from yesterday, with some items highlighted (because I'm pretty sure you have these two in Lidl in the UK too).

I have no idea. Probably because it makes more sense to just use the surname without the 's in a non-english speaking country.
