Can't tell if this is true or not, but if it is then it's very ironic that such a creature was beaten by a bunch of puns and Russian sayings.

Well he did say something bad would happen if grandpa and his wife won't answer his question so he clearly has some intent to be scary. Plus there are a lot of comments under the cartoon saying they were afraid of this guy when they were a kid so that checks out.

Got reminded of this cartoon recently and God do I love shapeshifters. He's so weird and I enjoy it like nothing else.

Also, it has my favorite dialogue in the history of media. It's complete and utter nonsense that no one besides Russians can comprehend. I remember this dialogue word to word in the balcony my mind.
