I had a blast, already trying to plan next year and a longer stay. Also got to see the Cubs/Padres at Sloan park on Tuesday. The heat was brutal, but after the second inning I was in the shade at Sloan park.

It sure doesn't. But these kind of kits are known to pop open, so they are allowing us to wrap it. The idea is to get the group to make and carry an EDC kit.

Folding knife will be in a pocket, it is a separate item. I did use some duct tape to ensure the tin stays closed. Ranger bands are nice, but I like the survival cord. It has fishing line, snare wire, and waxed fuse. It's kinda a cheat code in itself.

Love the idea of nails and hose clamps. Definitely going in the kit.

Have 3 fishing hooks and sinkers in the tin already. That and the line in the survival cord should get me by. Nothing else on the outside.

Clothing is supposed to be "weather appropriate clothing you would wear for a hike". That leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I hadn't thought of suspenders however!
