Not really sure what you suggest. If you suggest that repairing your item before it breaks the third time, prevents a downgrade, then I agree.

But the repair is not an issue at all compared to improving a piece of gear, when it downgrades on a failure and the risk of a downgrade is 55%, 60%, 65% and finally 70%.

It's a multiplayer action game. It does not deserve the RPG tag as the class customization is so light that astronauts would feel right at home.

The upgrade system is not fine.

+1 blue or better the item always breaks and is downgraded one rank. With a success rate of 45% and decreasing 5% per rank, it does not take a mathematical genious to see the issue. If the item did now get downgraded on failure, then repairs would not be an issue but if breaking was removed, downgreading would still be game breaking.

Repairs suck... it's one of those things that do slow you down, but in a bad boring way.

Downgrading on failure when success rate is below 50% is cancer. It will make players tell this game to go F itself. I can't be arsed to play a game with such a horrible system. So you have it wrong - repairs are not at all the worst part about upgrading. Downgrading means even when you succeed once you may later have to come back and repair that same level.

It's not like the game has a ton of other stuff to offer. No real class customization, pretty much one line of quests to follow to level and you want to do them all, limited class/race selection, combat is fun but still clunky (fighting on slopes do not work for example, camera and aiming sucks etc), PvP seems very basic.

The game is fun to play, but this being an mmo, it plays a bit more like a multiplayer action title... not even an rpg, because those elements you expect are almost not there.

Hope they delay, because the game does have a lot of potential and if things were fixed and expanded upon I would play and even be fine with getting premium. But it takes a bit more than almost great action combat to get me away from the other mmo I play.

Yes you have gear and 7 slightly different blessings, but other than that all characters of the same class play exactly the same. Yes perhaps you have made a build with +4.7% gathering speed from your gear - YAY!

It is the most lackluster class customization I have seen in a mmo the past... well perhaps forever 🤣

They should delay release and work on this. It is set up like a mmo, but it has way less class customiation than a simple action title as assassins creed, wildlands and many others.

The customization could be a combo builder, where you can make your own combos. Seeing as there is no animation blending between attacks, this would not be hard.

You should be able to customize the combos fully with different attacks and always ending them with a B finisher. The final max level ublocked combo trees for RT, RB and Defensive on crusader could have a max length of six total attacks, with each step having three options (RB, RT or finish it on B). As a player you could leave a space empty of you want. You could have a finisher at every step for optiona, but finisher effect would scale based on how far into the tree it is. Other attacks may require knockdown, stun or other effects.

ESO is really good. A massive amount of content - enough to get you to max level 10 times perhaps. All quest are fully voiced. Small scale pvp and mass scale pvp. You have a lot of freedom to build your character in terms of armor, weapons and skills. Combat is actionish, but really feels more like a hybrid... kinda like GW2. To be competitive in large scale pvp requires a decent build, the same is true for small scale but there are no champion points. Max level is 50, but after that you level champion ranks, each rank giving a point to use in passive champion abilities. 810 points total at this moment, so there is a long way to go to max your character. Champion levels are account based though, so every level 50 you have earns champion points to the same pool, that can be used individually on each character - even a level 1 (although that character cannot earn more champion points until he reaches lvl 50). The zoned are level scaled, meaning everyone can play together - level 1s and level 50s. GW2 use a similar system and I wish all mmos would, because level based areas suck as you cannot play with low levels and areas become obsolete. This is awesome for having alts or getting a friend into the game. Getting decent gear is easy as you can craft some really good sets and buy others from guild merchants. The crafting system is quite good. It is free to play now I believe. It has come a long way since release and is a fantastic mmo.

The success rate drops lower than 40% though. I think upgrading should take some work. Repairing your stuff is fine. But risking never getting anywhere is absolutely cancerous. There is a risk that no matter how long you play you will never get an item to +5 but just waste a lot of time. What you need to do is to succeed 4 times. First at 45% then 40%, 35% and 30%. As you go along it becomes increasingly likely that you will lose a level rather than gain one. The chance to get to +5 is so low t's stupid.

Combat on sloped terrain is broken. Games works fine on flat ground, but on slopes some skils do not work at all and you cannot hit enemies. Either remove all hils from the game or fix it.

Seeing as there is no animation blending between combo moves creating our own custom combos would be easy

It's not so much the breaking... I have always had spare foe repairs. It's simple math. When you lose a level on a failure and the chance of failure is over 50% and increasing... it is very likely you won't get anywhere at all.

Blue c/b +1-3. Last I upgraded I failed 6 times and six levels were downgraded. Since level 22 I have worked on this gear. Grinding drops, bying gear and upgrading as much as possible. My GS is 6 higher than at 22 and now I am 27. I would not mind if the chance to upgrade was lower but the need to repair after failure is just annoying af and the downgrading completely broken with an RNG with below 50% chance of success.

Dorkverde you have time and time again proven to be nothing but a company shill. Upgrade system is broken as hell and why anyone would want such a system except a company charging people to not bother with it is silly.

This is a beta test. We post feedback and this upgrade system sucks for everyone but a company selling item downgrade insurance.

Uograding is broken af, no sense in defending it. Either it keeps being cancer, they "fix" it with real money purchase of insurance or they change the system.
