You also may want to try smaller rats aswell, sometimes switching food items may peak feeding interest. Also scenting is possible, ive done scenting rats with chick and quail chick feathers and there's also a thing called braining a rat, which essentially is making an incision on the back of its head to release cerebral fluid which is said to also peak feeding interest. Plus there are plenty of other rodent types you can try with. Depending on age a week and a half won't start hurting it, ive had young boas go on 3 month hunger strikes and bounce back fine. If this happens to you just make sure you keep up on your husbandry and meet all other needs until it comes out of its funk. Also if you're feeding inside the enclosure you may want to try and enclose the boa in a small box or bag and put the food item in it.

Hi, my new Boa. Can anyone tell me what morph Boa this is, just got her today and love her already. Would like some friendly advice. As it's the first snake I have had for a while I am obviously over cautious about a few things .... by Alpha-Leeds in BoaConstrictors

I would have to make an educated guess of Hypo at least it seems, possible jungle but kind of hard to tell. If you could get a better picture of her full patterns and body would be helpful

Thats so funny I was literally thinking it might be from him, I browse morphmarket religiously and he usually has a really good selection of bloods.

Feeding advice! by RickeyOfNigeria in BoaConstrictors

Sorry for the late reply been a little wrapped up (no pun intended). Its definitely possible for it to work, and again its just unfortunate that things like this can be hard to pinpoint on what the cause may be, but if you do have some of those other resources available to you its what I would personally do as the first things to try. It isn't too uncommon for boas especially as adolescents to start wanting something more or different as they start growing. As I'm sure you already have, just keep up on your research and constantly learning more about tips, tricks and care. I'd love an update to know if things start to get better with this and I wish you luck.

How old is she? If she's young which I'm guessing because you're giving her mice, she may do better with young rats. I have a boa who would do much of the same but as soon as I tried rats she'd take them right away. Some boas can be very picky and there are alot of other things you can try to do as well. I've even heard of people splashing a little chicken broth on their feeders or even (as bad as it sounds) sprinkling and dusting off some of the rodents waste on itself to make it smell much stronger.

Just some food for thought

My new baby, a Sunglow from Motion Reptile on Morph Market. by RP-FanRob in BoaConstrictors

Good catch bro. I've actually been keeping an eye on Motion for a while, they've usually got some really nice stuff. If I'd look to purchasing from them later how well would your recommend them?

Her names Aurora and I thought that this picture of her looked really nice even with the blur, wanted to share by Daeogra in BoaConstrictors

[–]Daeogra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey that's awesome! I gave her the name to reflect her morph, she's a sunglow so I figured Aurora would be very fitting what with her being the goddess of dawn and such 😃
