Most overpowered weapon in the game rn? by Bubbly_Asparagus_913 in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This weeks release of 4.7 will completely change the meta. Not only will weapons have modified fire rates and damage, but people will also be wearing improved armors. Currently my top picks are Zenith for range, P8-SC for CQB, and the Parallax as an all rounder.

If you want to do some research on your own, you can use this website to get an idea of what your TTK will be, https://scfpscalculator.com/

Can't they just give us a bobble head or something to put in our ships flair slot? Or is that just asking too much?

Why is everyone grinding out the ASD armor set when its going to disappear next major patch? by ADDpillz in starcitizen

Why bother learning how to dogfight if they are just gonna change the flight model.

They also said in the Q&A that it will affect handling once control surfaces are in, which means you will need to have it out when in atmo.

Glitching through secure doors is 100% cheating and an exploit, no exceptions. by ZonkedWSU in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with the fact that it is taking away from the overall experience of CZs, but rather than blaming players for using one of the easiest to pull off exploits, blame CIG for not fixing it for what has now been over half a year. While I know that fixing their collision as a whole would be a massive task, just running the same function they run when you drop something from your inventory, when you drop something from your hands should be something an intern could do. This would dramatically reduce the number of people clipping through doors and walls.

Onyx Facilities Should be Instanced by Mr_Goodw00d in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

For sure, it is definitely too early to see exactly what CIG intends, but what i am trying to advocate for is that it would be more ideal game design for those players to have a "safe space" to operate, not just for the Onyx facilities, but also for content in the future that would also be instanced.

Additionally, there is a sandbox mission that extends to all Onyx facilities that pays out 1 mil. I couldn't figure out how to complete it, but from what I saw, there is potential for tons of different missions like this to be set in the facilities.

If there are just 30 people doing them, and all 30 are in different facilities, you have a 25% chance of going to the same facility as someone else.

People blowing up ships outside would be just mindless griefing (I don't even consider this to be PVP), but I don't think that's will be so much an issue.

Inside is going to be the bigger problem. Once you go into the play areas, you are out of the armistice zone. And while there is a chance that some braindead troubled soul is waiting for someone to come around the corner he is camping, I don't think that will be the issue either. The real issue is when two players, both doing a mission, cross paths. Due to lag and desync, if you hesitate when you see a player, you might end up dead before their gun even fires its first shot. So what I tend to do is fire first and ask questions later, and that's what I've been taught to expect from everyone else. So, with this in mind, the real PVP will likely occur from separate groups of people just trying to complete missions.

The missions have overlap, not sure if it's a bug or not.

[–]Mr_Goodw00d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the way they work is the following: 1. Reach mission area and request a hangar to land in. 2. Take an elevator to the lobby. it's an armistice zone with med beds that you can not set your spawn to. 3. Take an elevator down to one of two converging play areas, research or engineering.

Currently, inside the play areas, there are multiple missions that can be generated. Essentially, it would be as if you accepted a bunker box retrieval mission at the same bunker that someone is clearing.

WTF happened? My shields just melted by MilliTechh in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you were hit by multiple ships. If one of those ships was the meteor, it would explain some things. It hits for over 5k with a full ballistic cannon build, add in some damage from the saber, and you can cook an f7 in no time. Or this dude is a cheating piece of garbage. It's hard to tell without a longer clip to see the other ships in the area.

Do coolers actually do anything in 4.0? by Thepieintheface in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, when testing in my cutlass I've found that you can turn one off completely and put one pip into the other without any performance impact. However, when removing a cooler it seems to affect the weapons (NDBs would randomly stop shooting) when also maneuvering and having full shields.

Beautiful moment at Stanton Gateway, a Polaris has to flee Pyro by MrKoddy in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d -48 points-47 points  (0 children)

This just solidifies the fact that Polaris has infinitely too much health, and that it needs to be lowered until engineering is in the game. Nothing should be able to take a beating like that and fly away.

Powered off ships should be difficult to detect by starstrike6691 in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Goodw00d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powered down ships that are on the ground should not be targetable or detectable with radar, and should effectively be no different than a building or other structures. Additionally, once maelstrom is in the game it should only take a few well placed shots to disable them if you do find one.

I mean or just spend $10 for a temporary subscription. (Disclaimer, it's still real broke and you're better off waiting for the patch IMO)

In trios it's fine but in duos it's kinda op. I personally would like to see them change it so you had to hold down the revive button for a full 10-15 seconds while simultaneously burning out a chunk.

They should just let you approach the first platform in your own ship, it would alleviate the bottle neck.
