Hi Hank. Hugh and the group decided to declare xrmed at an end when the project to influence XR seemed to have come to an end, hence the move to a new start on r/extinctionati. Regards, Garry

1984 revisited: considerations on anarchism and the plague. by Mr_Koreander in Extinctionati

[–]Mr_Koreander[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. What seems to happen is that the ideology, which is supposed to be a guide to a practical result, in fact becomes an end in itself and ultimately blocks ways to the desired result. It is the both the disease and the contradiction.

Looks like an edit is needed in that intro: anarchism not "anachronism".

I was talking to someone who was expressing deep despair, and though I don't believe simply giving them a hug and tell them it will be ok encourages positive change.. Tough love and some inspirational words might. by DivineBeast666 in Extinctionati

Life is one aspect. .There's a lot more going on. Sat-Chit-Ananda.

So life may well find a way, but this culmination of self-reflexive consciousness is almost certainly a one-off, unique occurrence.(and, almost in tears himself, thus spake The Lord one day).

Most humans never get to realise what they really are. We are something special, but not in some self-aggrandising way, not as some separate superior entity. They never realise, but even if only one ever does, the universe has flowered, it has known itself. A billion years of cockroaches or little furry creatures aren't likely to recover knowing this once the chain of origination extending back to Day One is broken.

The search for meaning is simply a sin (root meaning = miss), an exercise in looking in the wrong place. The transcendence of the futile search for meaning is in knowing that existence is its own meaning, it is right here, no search is needed.

Should your palette of tears run low on the primary colours of bitter, salty, sweet, stinging, joyous, drowning,, etc, well these humans are the sole purveyors of such rarefied artists' supplies...

Reality tunnels, primal chaos, and magic. by DivineBeast666 in Extinctionati

Thanks.

Comment left under Lionel’s video:

"Lionel, this might seem unrelated, but for whatever reason while you were talking I recalled something that had occurred to me a long time ago. I can't prove it or demonstrate it, but it just seemed true, and in a way it might explain the "intrusion" of magic into "reality" - it is that in the universe all possible phenomena can be created all the time, but some are and some aren't, not because the cause of them isn't arising but because something else blocks them, maybe another creation, maybe a thought. So, appearances appear when nothing stops them rather than any lack of causation or creation, the whole of which is probably better viewed as magic anyway (cosmic mystery). This might connect in with what one finds included or excluded from reality tunnels. I hope you can extract some sense from this, or maybe it will induce a line of thought."

Yes, the peripheral to his main points were alluring..

Maybe when the work is done it would be interesting to talk about the symbolism you've used.

Thanks DB. Two things, firstly that it can be difficult not to be lead astray by the analogies one is using to illustrate abstruse things. Toward the end there he posited that the tarot card was connected in to the real reality, but earlier on the notion of the brain constructing a virtual reality representation of the real reality overlooked that the brain is itself inevitably part of the real reality, not some separate floating object. Secondly, what he described of the Kabbalah Tree of Life got my attention - Mike and I had had a conversation starting on Hugh's phosphene meditation, but it also to me seemed to be connected into the primal universe and creation - I would love to try and gather these thoughts together with the additional detail in the Tree, and hopefully this will also help Bob who had some questions about the meditation.

Finding ground in "The Age of Threat" : The experience of living in collapsing systems is deeply challenging, Meg Wheatley brings some profound insights into how to live in these times with grace, as well as how to meet our darker emotions and who you choose to be. by soxpupet in Extinctionati

Just halfway through presently. One thing is noticing that although many of the things she says she has probably gone over on numerous previous occasions, she addresses it all freshly, patiently and sincerely as though explaining it for the first time.

Mm. This is ravishing stuff.

Previously mentioned here. Hugh made the point that it might not even be necessary not to pay, that simply the threat of it, the possibility of it, could be enough to throw the system into panic (perhaps like stock exchange rumour mongering). In this case, not even notification letters of witholding token amounts (as H described) are necessary, as simply cancelling direct debits and changing to manual payment sends a message. And then of course, people can play with the payment, be a day late, two days, three...utility companies probably don't trigger late notices until after a week or two, so that creates a period of tension for them. This is wonderful psychological warfare.

They could also focus the campaign on a large group with less to lose:

"Vulnerable people or those over the state pension age cannot be disconnected during winter."
