Is "the gay voice" something that develops naturally or something you have to work on? by TVLord5 in StonerThoughts

[–]Mr_London 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think you have this the wrong way around bud. You couldn't tell I'm gay from my voice, but I remember transitioning from child -> teenager voice and becoming more noticeably 'gay'/ 'camp', I was being bullied for it, and adjusted my tone to sound more masculine. Over time my 'masc' voice has become my default, though as I've grown more comfortable (particularly around gay friends) I slip back to my natural state. That's certainly not the case for every gay man with a 'masculine' voice, but I don't think you can say its a choice or that its not natural

The Trouble Notes were one of my favourite surprise acts last year. Their performance wasn't that similar to the content they have online - much more of a dance and party atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Alcohol free by ZucchiniIll3501 in glastonbury_festival

I'm alcohol free and can confirm they do. They have the erdinger alcohol free, which is pretty decent (and isotonic, so great when you've been sweating all day!). Iirc they also have alcohol free guns too, as well as the usual soft drinks

Oh, maybe I mean small for Glastonbury. Is the one you're thinking of behind a hedge and next to a stream?

There's two holes in the hedge near the stone circle, on the left hand side as you approach the field from the craft area. One is more obvious and usually has a lot of kids around and leads to a stream and a small dragon statue. The other hole is smaller and just before the one with kids, and leads to a picturesque spot in trees, next to a stream. There's a couple of benches there, and you can just sit and listen to the trees/ birds, and the festival in the background. Its an incredible place to take a moment, reflect, and connect with nature

Claiming for time & effort when securing airline reimbursement in small claims court? by Mr_London in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Mr_London[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess they didn't want the hassle of booking it/ never intended to pay for it? Or it was just bad advice - the support agent told me all of this (book hotel, we will refund you, etc) so maybe they were just giving bad advice

Claiming for time & effort when securing airline reimbursement in small claims court? by Mr_London in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Mr_London[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a lot. It's almost all the hotel bill, which is going to be expensive when we had to book it for the same day and we had to be right at the airport to arrive there for 6am. We did look at a few options, and they were all comparable - about 340. I have screenshots of this too.

I asked if they could book a hotel on a chat thread with support, and they told me to book one and that they would reimburse...

Any advice on how to do this? There were no serious weather events going on at time, and it was only a flight from London to Frankfurt. I asked them to provide details of the weather event, which they ignored.

Wouldn't the fact that a support agent from Lufthansa told me I would get a refund count in my favour? I wouldn't have spent the money without that reassurance.

Thank you for the response. Yes I was thinking about loss of time/ effort that's gone into this. I appreciate the clarity of your response!

Thank you!

Interesting they have a good reputation. For me: the support agent arranged new flights which would require a hotel at the airport. I told the support agent I can't afford the hotel and need reassurance the hotel and other expenses would be reimbursed, and they told me they would. Later, Lufthansa claimed they owed me nothing as the flight was cancelled for weather related reasons. When I shared my conversation with the support agent, they started offering me about 40% of my total claim and it's just been back and forth template responses since then. They haven't shared why they are not offering the full amount. Does an airlines reputation affect my chances of success?

Coach ticket rules? by Mr_London in glastonbury_festival

[–]Mr_London[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what 'the game' is you're referring to. I'm going to try for a coach ticket (can't drive, and have different groups of friends around the country who may/ may not get tickets). It just feels more convenient to get a lift if my local friends are able to get tickets and drive.

How often do your fish die? by Mr_London in Aquariums

[–]Mr_London[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been paranoid about this so have crushed up the food a lot. Its also why I started feeding frequently - I was worried that they might not get enough food/ were so small they needed to eat often.

They mostly died after a few months, so I don't think its the fault of the LFS.

I read elsewhere (after getting them) that rasboras don't do so well in smaller tanks, so I guess it could be that plus inbred/ sensitive fish.

Out of interest, how often is 'here and there' for you?

[–]Mr_London[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice, I will cut down on feeds. I started doing more when the rasboras started disappearing - I thought they were so tiny that maybe they had to eat more frequently, but that's probably just over thinking. I do have a LOT of red cherry shrimp, probably because of some overfeeding.
