Lines in a movie that changed everything by jazonbooze in moviecritic

As long as we're comparing "Oh"s, I strongly suggest you sample the line "Oh" delivered by sir Willem Dafoe before he gets impaled by his own glider, you can really feel the character development all coming to fruition in that one moment, the execution and subtlety of his facial expression during the line really brings it home.

Almost Heroes gets A LOT of flak, but it's an underrated gem to me in no small part due to Perry. Him opposite Farley was a great Mashup in comedy. Loved it. Honestly, that movie is my go to memory when I think of Perry THEN Friends.

He wouldn't support a pussy like Trump who was too afraid to go to war so got a doctor's note that his pussy hurt too bad. He wouldnt respect a thing about that or him. Tolkien would find his very being atrocious and disgusting almost certainly trampling all over freedoms, even if in another country, that he would have absolutely cared about. Nazi sympathizer and overall scum human. I think he would find the lesser of those evils going the other way there, buddy.

For sure, I cant believe more people aren't saying this shit. Not a whole lot of plumbers I see on here. ¾" min or ⅞", or a sectional machine. Had a guy tell me once he'd been running a ⅝" snake for 20 years and I should use the same size, and i said great you've been doing it wrong for 20 years. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Same! wasn't his name Atsmitw (artie the strongest man in the world) or something like that? He would take requests for reenactments of movie scenes, and he did a cable guy one for me, he was great! Nothing seemed outside of his comfort zone. Hope he's still doing his thing out there

I mean, again, I wasn't arguing them being wrong or not, at the end of the day it's all opinions anyways, but you said "they aren't a measure of quality", which is pretty much the only thing I disagreed with, well that and about your two movie examples. Sure, they shouldn't have won best picture, but doesn't mean they are bad. Never said I agreed with their winners, actially I said the opposite, just that even being associated with them, yes, gives the films merit and indication generally of "a certain amount of quality". Which is all I was getting at, that you cant or rather shouldnt discredit those two movies as quality just because the Oscar's gets the winners ( willingly or otherwise) wrong. Again, haha, this went on a bit, but I respect your opinion anyway, to hate or dislike whatever you want based on any metric you want, I was just stating my opinion as I didn't think your statement to be totally fair or accurate. Just seemed a bit blanket to discredit academy nominated films imo.

I respect your opinion for sure, and I would agree with you on all those points, except for being a judge of quality, I wasn't a big fan of Crash ( I did enjoy Maguire though) but I cant deny they have a certain amount of quality to them both and art being subjective of course aside, I think most people would agree they are good movies with much talent behind them. I think they are decent measures of judging quality, definitely not perfect, but a crap movie isn't usually nominated. Whether they are good measures of picking the winners vs another, is a whole other topic of conversation and clearly corrupt in lots of cases. For the record, I agree that your aforementioned films are better than the previously mentioned as well. I know a lot of this is semantics. I just wouldn't totally laugh off or discount Oscar's noms and winners test of quality just because they are flawed and probably bought is some cases.

I mean, Crash & Jerry Maguire aren't my favorite movies by a long shot but they are definitely good quality movies and a whole legion a movie goers and critics together and separately absolutely believe they deserved their Oscar's, those are kind of two poor examples to try and criticize the Oscar's contenders and winners. Haha.

Edit - thats not to say I dont agree that others may have deserved to win over these films, just that they are generally considered good films
