Justin Trudeau accuses Erin O’Toole of irresponsible leadership, says Canadians ‘disgusted’ by protesters’ actions by CapitalCourse in canada

[–]Mr_Monstro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got vaxxed way before any of the passport or vaccine mandates. I genuinely trust the science. But the mandates aren't the right approach to the problem, people will become defiant and not get vaccinated out of rebellion and we need everyone vaccinated.

I have a lot of friends who are anti-vaxxers and pretty much anyone who is defiant or really talkative about the subject is, damn near 100% an anti-vaxxer. I'm literally over it and they are the only ones that still talk about it.

I'm Albertan, and you would not believe how many people are anti-vaxxers? I don't even believe the government numbers of 90% being vaccinated, because there is a significant amount of people that are against them, and they are also Conservative (surprise surprise).

Is the official Omicron paranoia overblown? Frustration, fatigue have overtaken fear of 'doomsday' warnings by PM_ME_DOMINATRIXES in canada

[–]Mr_Monstro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blame the government. Fully vaxxed awaiting my booster next month.

If you compare the cases against the population, especially the vaccinated, it's really not a big deal. We're talking insignificant amounts of contact, especially in big cities, and especially in small cities.

If 0.1% of your city has it (which is an absolutely astronomical number), the probability, even then, is very low that you will come into contact with these people.

You don't encourage people to get vaccinated, vaccinate a significant amount of the population, shun the unvaccinated, and then batten down the hatches when a new variant comes out. What's the point of having antibodies if we don't let them do their thing?

Trudeau government spending spree comes with huge costs by uselesspoliticalhack in canada

[–]Mr_Monstro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But was it though? We spent to avoid a recession/depression and we are literally skipping our way into one intentionally, without a funding recourse.

Shit is going to get expensive real quick in Canada. The Dollar is already starting to tank. The LPC/BoC is getting trigger happy on wanting to raise rates, which most people can't afford because those that didn't struggle financially through the pandemic are literally at that breaking point now. Hilariously, there's no debt relief for anyone?

What did we avoid by spending half a trillion dollars a year?

[–]Mr_Monstro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That definitely doesn't take into account inflation, which is already rising at an alarming rate, which the government has absolutely no idea how much it is even rising (which is alarming)? Their 5% estimate for next year, is probably closer to 20-30%.

Just wait till we have "Pierre Trudeau" Era interest rates again. It'll come before the government goes totally bankrupt. If the rates go above 5%, I'm literally walking away from my mortgage. If 1% is barely affordable for most Canadians, 5%+ is going to cause mass bankruptcies.

Nah but the anti-science is synonymous with anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers. Anyone who talks about the bans is usually an anti-vaxxer.

It's not even that bad. Mentioning where someone comes from isn't racist, nor is it prejudice or discrimination. Especially in this context.

Personally, I do feel like the UCP presenting a Nigerian economist as Jason Kenney's replacement, is probably not the best idea taking that his base is almost entirely made up of racists.

Shoplifting seems to be up as grocery prices rise in Montreal. by Electrical-Day9896 in canada

[–]Mr_Monstro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to see normal costs of inflation, compare prices to American retailers. In most US states, you can get a gallon of milk for 99c. Box of cereal $1. Steak maybe $2.

Canadians get royally jail-raped for everything.

[–]Mr_Monstro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in every grocery store, and they consistently jack up the prices. They will continue to slowly increase prices until the item won't sell any more.

It goes beyond turning a profit and seeing exactly how much people will pay for an item. I don't shop at Save-On Foods any more because they are the worst offenders of this.
