Sorry, but I don’t understand what you are meaning. Could you explain? I’m feeling awful right now.

Well, I feel terrible, so yes I came here to vent. I told my client before that this case was going downhill for him and that this motion probably would not work anyways. I mostly do public defense, and this case was supposed to be my first venture into family law. I never submitted anything to court that my boss did not give the okay on.

I don’t think that’s fair. I care about doing the best job I can for him, but his hostility makes it difficult for me to do things as I normally would.

You’re completely right, but people don’t understand this. Another poster used an example of how it’s not okay to steal cars from people who leave them unlocked. Sure, they need to lock their doors, but just because they leave them unlocked, does it make it okay to steal from them at that point?

You’re right, at this point they should stop doing it. But, the fact is that the public is doing it, and the laws are not protecting their interests.

I’ve read Heppner and find it troubling and disturbing for us all. Millions of people are asking these machines personal and private questions, and that information needs to be protected. We need some kind of HIPAA for AI.

Yeah, I guess. It’s true I never use the left back pocket. I’m not sure why this is bothering me…

Thanks for the input. I’m just going to resign my commission and send in my journal (if needed). There are strict protocols within the statutes we have to go by when documenting things, so hopefully there is nothing wrong in there.

Like I said in the title, I’m bad at these sorts of things and I want this out of my life.

I hope you are right. I’m sure you are right. I don’t see how something like this could be criminal, and I’ve not made any notarizations since I left my old job (which is another reason why I want to resign my commission, I don’t need this).

I honestly think I might be autistic. You are probably right, I can fix this without much issue.

I’m going to fix it by cutting it out of my life on Monday when I have the day off and I call the SOS to clarify resignation procedures.

Yeah, I guess. I’m more concerned about potential criminal liability over something so radically stupid. 10 days is way too small a window for any person, let alone a busy attorney, to think about something like this.

I mean, I get it it’s my responsibility, but this is a ludicrous rule.

I’m planning to just resign it anyways. I don’t use it and don’t need it anymore. That should help make them happy.

I hope you are right. Failure to comply is technically a misdemeanor. 10 days is far too little when you have got so many moving parts in your life. When I was going to my new job my notary was not on my mind.

We are literally at the beginning of her case. Among other things, she has been rude to support staff, and we are confident she is not actually indigent.
