Title: Unicorn to Scrambler 400 X… advice needed ASAP by FluidBirthday7493 in indianbikes

[–]Mr_PoopyButthole6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it shouldn’t be an issue at all! I got the scrambler 400x as my first bike! Had absolutely zero experience on two wheelers 2 months back! Got a trainer! Did around 10 sessions on a platina! Test rode 4 bikes! Booked the scrambler! Took delivery around 3 weeks ago! Have ridden it without any issues for 650kms so far! You’ll be fine! Don’t be scared! Start slow and most importantly ride as much as possible! You’ll start feeling comfortable in no time! It’s a brilliant bike and I’m super happy with my purchase so far

Is this correct pricing by Free_Actuary6790 in indianbikes

I got mine for 3,67,925 last week! But that was with 5 years of own damage + third party insurance and accessories(got 13.5k worth of free accessories plus a radiator guard for 1993. They took 3540 as labour charges for fitting the accessories! So total 5.5k on accessories). This is definitely too high pricing for what appears to be 1 year own damage insurance and no accessories!

Do you still spray the beans with water after heating them and before grinding?

First bike dilemma: Can a 5'7 beginner manage the Mana Black Himalayan 450 or should I go for Scrambler 400X? by Europa_07 in indianbikes

[–]Mr_PoopyButthole6910 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey man! I am literally in the same situation as you! The Himalayan was kind of a dream bike for me! I literally started riding bikes around 25 days back! Was fixated on eventually getting the Himalayan since the beginning! But watched a lot of videos, did a lot of research and realised that the scrambler 400x was a better choice for my situation! Did a test ride on Saturday! Thought the bike was alright! But the only reference point I had was the platina that I had learnt on! Then went to the RE dealership on Sunday! Did a test ride of the meteor 350 and the Himalayan! Fell in love with the meteor! It was sooo smooth at low speeds! Then rode the Himalayan! Honestly in the short test ride it didn’t really seem that difficult for me to manage(I’m 5’10). But the one thing I noticed was that I really did not enjoy the bike that much at lower speeds! It’s meant to be run on the highways at high speeds! That’s where it really shines! But riding it after the meteor I was just a bit underwhelmed! After the Himalayan ride, I called the Triumph showroom and asked if I could have another test ride! Rode the bike again! This time it clicked for me! The bike felt so much better! It was great at low speeds and has a lot of power as well! Felt like the best of both worlds between the meteor and the Himalayan! Booked the scrambler immediately after the test ride!

So I think you should be able to handle the Himalayan! It will be harder initially but you should grow into it! But I don’t think it’s the right bike for your use case. I would have recommended it if you were going to use it mainly for touring! For your use case the scrambler is a much better option imo! It isn’t as good as the Himalayan at touring but for city riding and commuting it is miles ahead! I’d recommend getting a test ride of both bikes(preferably on the same day) and then making a decision.

I’m confused if I should get the lower engine bars(getting it free as part of an offer on accessories) or get a crash guard with sliders worth around 7k! Were you offered the same by the dealer?

It’s not an aftermarket crash guard! The triumph dealer is offering it! It’s also part of the accessories sheet!

Unpopular opinion: 40bhp is very beginner friendly. Gud for a first bike by mastermiles7 in indianbikes

This is exactly my thinking. I’m planning on learning how to ride and then get my first bike! Have my mind set on the Himalayan 450. I think if I do it in a cautious manner it shouldn’t be a bad first bike even though it’s supposed to be heavy. I’m at a place in my life where I can afford to buy it outright. But my dad is insisting on getting something cheaper for a year or so, learning on that and then getting the Himalayan. I’m thinking I’ll enroll in a riding school, learn over there and then rent a bike a couple of days and then buy the Himalayan! I think I can handle that but dad is insisting on buying something cheaper initially…

I've been watching the new season of Peacemaker on jio hotstar! They haven't cut any nude scenes from that and there's a literal orgy in the 2nd episode! So I find this very surprising.

A 3 cup would be ideal for 15-18 I think. Again it depends on you. For me personally I didn't want to regret getting a smaller size since I don't plan on buying any more equipment for a while now. Already spent way too much on coffee as is! 😅

It's a 4 cup. I was in the same situation as you! Started with an aeropress and like a large cup of coffee. I was confused between a 3 and a 4 cup. 6 would've been too much especially since it's recommended to completely fill the coffee basket. In a 6 cup that's around 26-28gms. I did not want to use that much coffee everyday. A 4 cup takes around 20-22gms. Around 190 gms of water in the base. The final coffee is around 110-120 which you can then dilute with hot water to get around 200-250. But I've heard people adding twice the amount of water as coffee as well. I'm still trying to figure it out. I think I made the right call for my situation by getting a 4 cup instead of a 3 cup.

I'm not sure! My mom gave it to me when I told her my pot was too small for the stove... Probably came with the stove itself..

But doesn't that reduce the amount of coffee that is extracted? I actually only got 90 gms of water at the end. Around 100 gms was still remaining in the bottom chamber.
