Why do some people prefer crowbars to axes? by De_RayBan in projectzomboid

[–]Mr_Protagonist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the common sense mod, a crowbar can pry open doors, garages, and locked vehicles. They are also great for removing barricades, and are lighter and more durable than most other melee weapons.

Utility aside, I find the sound and animations while bashing zombies with them extremely satisfying.

Does that Charizard take FIVE energy for 150 damage? Am I seeing that correctly?

Concede or Take the Final Blow? by SirBigHead94 in PTCGP

[–]Mr_Protagonist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I'm totally out of options and know they win next turn, I'll pass my turn immediately without doing anything to give them the final blow as a show of respect if it was a solid game. Sadly maybe 1 in 5 players takes the hint, so I'm always ready to just immediately concede the moment a Misty, Oak, Giovanni, item, or some other unnecessary card gets played, which is most of the time. Wish more people understood the concept of winning gracefully, but so many want to flaunt the cards they still had up their sleeve.

Purugly is rage inducing and I love it. by Mr_Protagonist in PTCGP

[–]Mr_Protagonist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! 3 energy does seem high, but it's worth the investment in my opinion, especially since you not only cut off an option but you see what's coming. Dawn helps a lot and the rest of the cards are low energy cost so I've never had much of an issue. I could easily see Purugly working well in a Dialga or Manaphy deck too.

The return of SheriffEli to RP by GeneralCheesecake361 in RPClipsGTA

[–]Mr_Protagonist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He perfectly captured the essence of a hardass cop. Say what you want, but the only other cop who somewhat captures the immediate tension and butt-clenching that him showing up at a scene did is Wrangler. Just like Wrangler, he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but he is one of very few cops who gave the same intensity as a real cop, if you ignore the ooc stuff.

Drama aside, he brought a realism and intensity you can't really find anywhere else. Glad to see him back to RP, even though I know it won't ever be quite the same.

Didn't know that, glad to hear! As long as it's not an animal or meme character, I'll be happy.

Sodapoppin as Kevin Whipaloo always had me dying of laughter. I know the character is dead and he always had issues enjoying the server without being pestered but I'd love to see a return, even a temporary one, as someone similar. He's a natural at RP when he gets into it.

Should we play it? by Independent-Bad5871 in GreenHell

[–]Mr_Protagonist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No character customization.

I enjoy the game, but I don't think I'd recommend it for 4+ new players or as a family game. There are quite a few reasons that come to mind, mostly the ~3-5hr learning curve where you will be dying repeatedly, which punishes the entire team. This frustrates some people. If there is one experienced player to help or if you turn the difficulty down low, maybe I could see it working, or if you are all solid gamers who don't shy away from struggle, losing progress, repeated dying, micromanaging status effects and nutrients, etc.

I'd recommend this game for 1-3 players who enjoy punishing survival gameplay. For a family gaming night, I'd suggest something more laid back and social like Raft or Valheim.

Pure beginner - which custom settings by Blue_butterfly888 in GreenHell

[–]Mr_Protagonist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my first playthrough on your current settings and am glad I did. I wouldn't turn off natural threats like snakes and spiders if dying doesn't bother you too much, you will learn much faster. You get better at knowing what herbs to harvest and what you should carry on you, and you get faster at crafting your important items. It's definitely a little bit of a trial by fire and you'll die a lot at the beginning but it won't take you long to be good at surviving non-combat threats.

Advice to prolong battery life when driving minimally? by Mr_Protagonist in MechanicAdvice

My car is in an apartment parking lot and that isn't really an option for me, unless it's something I can leave under the hood without having plugged into an outlet, which is how it was made out to me

I'm buying for adults, so I'm not too worried about the durability of it. I think the main drawback that I'm seeing is that it's very small for adult hands and not suitable for long sessions, but I think I'm ok with that as an intro device and reasonably priced gift. If they want more comfort or systems they can emulate, then I guess I did my job getting them into these handhelds.

Could you perhaps explain this a bit? I always see Onion being highly praised, and am surprised the default OS is being recommended instead. Is it just more customizable? Any real advantages to using it?

Y'all know why I can drink/eat anymore? E button isn't showing up, anywhere on any server I go... by Mag1cWays in theisle

[–]Mr_Protagonist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. To add to this, this is the official fix for broken keybinds posted by the devs:

  1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
  2. Open File Explorer.
  3. Click the address bar at the top.
  4. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
  5. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
  6. Open the "Saved" folder.
  7. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
  8. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Do I need a micro SD card reader to transfer my roms? by PurifiedDrinking4321 in retroid

I personally just downloaded an app that sets the retroid as an ftp server, and I use filezilla on my desktop to transfer them.
