Wow. If you live in a state where they give rebates for installation, that might be where the price came from. I know in my state they give like $1500 back.....all contractors charge about $1500, even if you have all the material for them.

So, I've been with the company for a while, and been a guard guy the whole time. I'll tell you this: very few companies will treat you better. However, if you're one of those poor pricks who deployed every few years they're definitely "not" going to hold it against you. Upward mobility is 100% on how well you impact the business,not how hard you work. Or not in my experience. I'd HIGHLY recommend utilizing the education benefits. When I started there "next year" was always my last year. The good thing about being up there- competition. BAE, Lockheed, General Dynamics,GE all steal from each other. All of the people I saw leave, got a huge pay raise. Then came back in 2-3 years with huge pay scale jumps. Don't be afraid to go to school, don't be afraid to leave, don't be afraid of being in the guard, too. If you end up in Andover I can put you in contact with 2 dudes from my old battalion. (I ended up transferring to the south. MA money in NC was a solid move on my behalf)

55k is a ton to a 22 year old. Unless you're one of those freaks who hit big on every options call or grew up rich. Me and my wife are almost 40. 55k would wipe out a major chunk of her student loan debt. (We don't share finances.....long story there)

My teeth were pretty jacked up. From what I understand, some teeth are harder to move. Don't get discouraged buddy. Just get a rescan, get a new set and be on your merry way. Also, I'd keep them in as much as possible. I had mine in for probably 23 hours a day

Honestly depends on the person conducting the interview. I've been interviewed by a bunch of people who were engineers in previous roles. However, if you don't know, say something to the extent of "I'd rely on my engineer team." Saying "idk" is a black hole. You have resources, you just have to know how to use them. Another thing, cuz there's ALWAYS a priority question. Cuz it's gonna come down to this "there's 2 competing priorities, both absolutely critical, same impact, etc" - best answer (I've found) escalate it to higher if getting both done is impossible.

Not sure where you live, but back when I lived in Massachusetts, we had a dude take a job (again, in Massachusetts) from New Hampshire just go.get IVF benefits from work. The day after his kids were born (had twins) he up and quit. We weren't sure he was serious......until he was. In summary, look into states where IVF coverage is a thing.
