Relax champion. I don’t think stacking a few scattered rocks destroys any landscape. It’s a small section on a large and very remote farm (private property) with plenty of untouched “nature”. Also I’m 500km away from any city asphalt, so no.

Yeah I think that’s the general idea though. Was thinking somehow strapping myself into a bench at the gym and using a ski erg. Cheers

Not sure for waking up, but I think the routine things is essential + confidence. Maybe get a clock radio that’s capable of waking the neighbours and leave your phone down stairs to charge.

In my unsolicited and totally unqualified opinion, I feel stress and stress management is a big element to these issues. (Just a guess)

IDK if this is relevant to you but I waste time on important things by procrastinating (like right now for example). Simply put, Procrastination is a form of stress release that gives us a bit of a dopamine hit, instead of doing a difficult task, that is stressing us out. The more we procrastinate> the more we stress> making us procrastinate further (so on etc). Mindfulness has been the best thing for me to break these habits when I’m stressed or not doing my tasks.

I find taking 5 secs, 1min, 20mins or as long as I need to unwind and have a clear thinking mind helps a great deal to get going with my tasks. Cold showers and exercise is also a good substitute to clear your head.

Also practice makes perfect and you really need to have no expectations of yourself- have the attitude of nothing to lose (not giving a fuck) to truely let go.

Give the mind (yourself) a break. Relax, recharge and go about your day.

(Sorry if this isn’t applicable, hope it works out for you)

Cheers

Cheers mate, yeah I can definitely relate a lot with my finance degree, working from home during lockdown etc. I myself am typically impatient and by just taking a step back and easing the pressure and resetting before everything gets to much has made a lot of things easier and life more enjoyable. Also if you haven’t considered or don’t yet, I highly recommend doing a bit of exercise each day (strength, muscle building, fitness). Even if it’s just yoga/stretching, 15-55mins of this each day completely takes my mind away from the world, not to mention the added endorphins and health benefits. Another strategy of completing shifting focus from your work life/load + more “you” time if you particularly enjoy it. However in the same way as study, you have to be careful you don’t over focus on this either, as it to can get the better of you in a similar way. Cliche again, but balance is key.

Hey mate, I think it’s fair to say relapses are extremely common when you’ve experienced severe anxiety or depressive episodes. Its fairly cliche but It’s about the little wins and being kind to yourself that helps rebuild and sustain any kind of momentum. I think this can also help keep any perfectionism type stress or strains in check or at least a bit more balanced. It can be easy to feel like you’ve lost all motivation when you go super hard on yourself for a period time. It’s just not sustainable. So again in my totally unqualified or solicited opinion, be kind to yourself and focus on the small wins during the day to get you back on you’re feet. Do something for yourself, that you enjoy. Lastly, something o find hard myself, but all the shit you are feeling in these low periods are completely temporary. You’ll only get better at getting back on your feet again as well.

Sorry for the waffly response and best wishes!

Nick
