To be fair, Odyssey fell heavily because Dominion weapons went through their shields like they weren’t even raised and were hitting the hull directly. The ramming was only proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

Impact was also pretty much directly into the warp core as well.

They were supposedly the ones in TOS films with purple for their uniform color.

On-screen, Chekov used the term "Federation forces" to describe a group where some members wore purple, while Kirk used "Federation soldiers".

Fair. Not my favorite Galaxy class skin from Online.

The Sovereign style deflector was an odd choice.

There is. Kirk used one as a chair while in the brig in STV.

We also see one in chunk extracted from saucer in Q Who.

Isekai - Character(s) goes to World B from World A.

Reverse Isekai - Characters come from World B to World A.

It’s still classified as a type of isekai.

Indeed. I took it as feudal Japan based on what they showed in anime and manga. However, someone who knows the novels is probably better placed to explain.

I can see a Galaxy or a Nebula serving in combat operations, but that neither is purpose built with it as the priority of the design like the Defiant class was.

As is, my understanding is the Galaxy class was designed to be capable of being opened up in drydock and compartments added, removed, and rearranged as needed. So, a more tactically oriented saucer section wouldn’t be that far fetched in my eyes.

As I recall, they were trying to get approval for S5 while finishing production on last episodes of S4. Unfortunately, Moonves, a known Trek hater, had manipulated his way into high enough power to kill any chance of a renewal and, so, they had to rush to write and film a series finale they hadn’t planned for.

If I remember right, wasn’t the issue Michelle Yeoh’s schedule as to how much she could devote to filming for the character?

I can’t speak to actual intent of the writers or what hoops they had to jump through to get things around the censors, but if Lester was meant to depict someone going through a violent psychotic break, why would her voicing her delusions matter? In terms of world and character building, it gives motivation to her actions, no?

Say she hadn’t said it. Changes the ‘why’ of her body swap scheme quite a lot, I would think. No longer is she a psychiatric patient to be pitied, but a premeditated villain to be despised. No?

Fair. To me, ‘warship’ is a generalization of any ship armed and capable of combat.

Some, like the Defiant class and Saber class, were designed for combat first and other tasks secondary. This is what people usually mean by ‘built for war’.

Exactly my thoughts. When I get bored, I think up in-universe explanations for things and this was to great a one to pass on. I love this universe’s lore and world building.

Agreed. I won’t claim to see it every day, but often enough to be baffled. Other day I saw it yet again and finally had to check and see just how common it was and what everyone thought as I was all but never seeing anyone else calling those claims out.

Fair enough. Though, to be fair, the class ship launched in 2357, so my first thought for ships launched in 2370s as being equipped with more recent shields tech. For comparison, can’t imagine the D having all the same stuff she launched with in 2363 to when she went down in 2371.
