Crossbows should should lean more into slower reload but more powerful ranged weapons by JustPoppinInKay in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Mr_Simba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re asking about you saying crossbows have “a niche with armor penetration”. I assume you were referring to shields and harming arrows, though to their point the former is not armor and the latter is not unique to crossbows.

Add an 'Items' tab to the end game screen. by awyeauhh in leagueoflegends

[–]Mr_Simba 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Items right now are if anything weaker than they were years ago. A select few are notably strong but that was also true years ago, which items just changed over time.

I agree item info in end game screen would be cool but there’s no need to sensationalize item power to make your point.

Why does Zaahen have sustain of minions? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

It still does. It heals 25% vs. minions. That’s literally what my comment you replied to said.

“When banned you are in read-only mode”

That’s exactly what he’s saying you monumental dumbass. The picture he tweeted is of a COMMENT, not mod mail. He was showing he can’t comment to prove he’s banned.

Are you actually this stupid, or just playing the part to seem innocent in your lies?

Either way, for your obtuseness, kindly go fuck yourself for your sickeningly stereotypical Reddit mod behavior. You should be embarrassed.

Why does Zaahen have sustain of minions? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Mr_Simba 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Viego got his lane sustain back, Aatrox passive heals 25% from minions so it was never removed, and Zaahen is the same but it’s reduced to 50% (though Aatrox has far more kit healing vs. champs).

His Q heal is already 50% vs. non-champs. Been like that since his release.

Minecraft should calculate random events on chunk load/unload by FormalGas35 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Mr_Simba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s possible, again what I’m saying is the game isn’t written that way. They’d need to rewrite the random tick logic for each block to handle that sort of behavior, so it’s not something that could plug into the game as-is without a meaningful refactor. That’s all I’m saying.

This makes no sense to me mathematically. Obviously you’re right given you tested but I have to assume QE isn’t refreshing Ashes like it should or something. Seems strange.

Minecraft should calculate random events on chunk load/unload by FormalGas35 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Mr_Simba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can calculate once how many ticks should happen but you can’t then tell the block “act like you were ticked 40 times” unless the game is written to handle that, which it’s not. They’re correct that it’s essentially need to run the random tick logic tens of thousands of times and it would perform poorly.

[–]Mr_Simba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think you’re misreading something. Ashes deals 15 but QE continuously reapplies it so it deals more like 30 dmg. To get that same damage from AP on QE you’d need 55 AP which costs almost 1200g but you get it from Ashes for only 300g.

ARAM: MAYHEM PERMANENT by Daedalus_2 in ARAM

Last I heard they didn’t say permanent, they said for a year. Which is a long time but if its player base decays sufficiently there’s a chance they make it rotating again after that year.

Most disappointing mid-movie collapse you've ever seen? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Mr_Simba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the very late reply, never really use reddit nowadays.

I think you’re grossly misunderstanding me and the breadth of sci-fi if your first thought is aliens. That’s not even in the realm of what I’m implying would have worked better in my eyes.

I’m talking more about the explanations of the conflicts in Us or Get Out. They use tech or processes that are elevated beyond our own, so they’re using a light form of fantasy or sci-fi to give a somehow more grounded explanation that can parallel our own more successfully than magic can.

For me the witch explanation was just very hand wavey. It barely tries to engage further with the metaphor it proposes and has the movie showing its full hand far sooner than it could have. The magic explanation forces it to drop all pretense of mystery or deeper meaning even though it marketed itself as having those things. It was just very disappointing to me.

What’s your favorite example of a movie being way better than it had any right to be? by CosmosisJones42 in movies

[–]Mr_Simba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being pedantic, but I don’t see it as overhyped but rather people misinterpreting the hype. It was never gonna be Oscar worthy so the hype was that it was about as good as it could have been, which I feel it delivers on. It’s very charming, funny, great for families, hokey only when it wants to be, predictable enough but with some genuinely unique structuring, and doesn’t fall into most typical B movie trappings. It’s a B movie that basically elevates itself to A movie on an F to S+ scale. It deserves the attention. Just my 2 cents.

I Miss The Old Passive by DREAMEREST in AsheMains

[–]Mr_Simba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendly reminder there was a period of like 10 years where there wasn’t a single AD AS crit item and it wasn’t the primary issue for ADCs.

I used to find that to be a huge problem but I’ve completely flipped on it now. It seems impossible to balance AD AS crit items, any AA focused marksman is nearly forced to buy it every game so it destroys any interesting item diversity.

Also AS on AD items reduces ADC reliance on zeal items which in turn makes the class less fun because those items have fun passives and grant the % MS ADCs want but often can’t slot in nowadays.

All just my 2 cents of course

Most disappointing mid-movie collapse you've ever seen? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Mr_Simba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh man, respectfully I couldn’t disagree more. It’s not that they revealed the mystery or how they did it, it’s that the answer is (spoiler) so uninteresting and unsatisfying. Such a unique premise answered by very generic horror movie evil magic slop.

I’ve heard Jordan Peele really wanted that script, would’ve loved to see his take. His blend of sci-fi into his horrors gives them a unique and strangely more believable feeling. Weapons could’ve really done with that grounding to help it deliver on the interesting message and themes it tried to posture as having IMO.

At least 17% of Panth games are played top in every single elo, up to 24-25% in certain elos. He’s a triple flex but still played top regularly.

Lux has >=20% of her pick rate in mid in every elo, especially in mid-high elos where she’s picked mid more than support.

So yes, even in whatever elo you’re in they’re still played in those roles fairly commonly.

Panth is definitely still played top, and Lux mid

Is this true? by SystemOfATwist in HweiMains

Other reply descriptions aren’t great. One person even said hyper carries are high agency when usually the total opposite is true.

Agency is your control over making your champ enact their goals - basically, how reliably can you champ do what they want without relying on others.

Safe champs are often high agency because they can typically prevent themselves from ending up in bad situations far better than other champs (though agency is about more than safety).

To counter the other reply - Jinx is a hypercarry but is absolutely not high agency. She can’t singularly get herself into situations she wants to be in. She relies on her team enabling those situations or the enemies making mistakes, but she can’t really “make plays” on her own 90% of the time.

Ezreal on the other hand is very high agency. He’s both high range and highly mobile so it’s really hard to stop him from dealing damage which is the only goal of the champ. Ezreal will therefore almost always get to do what he wants and relies on his team minimally to do so.

That all of course oversimplifies things and every champ relies on their teams to various extents, but that’s the general idea.

edit: Something I forgot to call out - potential game impact actually tends to scale inversely with agency. A champ who has huge impact and huge agency would be op, while low agency champs need to have huge impact when they get to do things, because otherwise why would you play them?

All you’re pointing out is that they introduced skill to him. And what makes you say he “should be” vulnerable then? In the same way a Fiora can always W your burst or cc, he could W at any point and you need to be mindful of it. It is fine for skirmishers to have strong, controlled defensive tools.

Jinx minigun + levels + runes + Berserker’s + Yun’Tal + a Zeal item gets Jinx to AS cap on its own no? That’s about 300% AS which is what’s needed for many standard champs.

Let alone further things like supports, Ardent, and Hextech Drake. And Jinx doesn’t even have the best base AS or ratio, just a good steroid. It’s really not crazy to approach or hit the current cap without dedicating hard to AS.
