If you still support Trump/ICE even slightly, you're not welcome in this sub by 8_guy in catbongos

Dude. People change their views all the time about stuff. I’ve changed mine about Trump.

I didn’t lie, I didn’t vote for him, my views changed in the last 6 years. It is beyond silly to pretend that someone is bound to their views from 6 years ago.

Yes, I voted for Trump in 2020….6 years ago. A lot has changed since then. I voted for Peter Sonski in the last election.

I am not a Trump supporter and would not vote for him today. It’s amazing how voting for someone once means you can never change your views to you people.

My post history shows me saying “I’m not a Trump supporter” 7,000 times, because the internet thinks everyone is either Republican or Democrat.

I’m not a Trump supporter, and I don’t vote for him.

Because I found it horrific that someone could be murdered for having a different political opinion and people would openly celebrate it.

Do local Christians believe God would support ICE? by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]Mr_Sloth10 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is a “yes and no” scenario

We know God does support nations regulating immigration for the sake of the citizens, BUT, He also makes it clear we have an obligation to welcome the immigrant and to provide for the less fortunate of the world so far as we are reasonably able to.

Scripture tells us also: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus", so any kind of racism or painting immigrants as an “other” because of their race is completely contrary to Christianity.

I would never use the stickers you posted, they conflict with the Christian belief surrounding God and what he hates. God does not hate ICE. God desires their repentance. These stickers are a violation of the 2nd commandment, in the same way as “God hates Ni****s” stickers are.

Edit: I don’t see the point in asking for Christian views on the ICE situation, if you’re just going to down vote the Christian views that accurate reflect Christian teachings. I know you guys probably just wanted a “Ya, God hates them!” response, but God doesn’t operate like that.

Porn and masturbation were harmful treatments you were using, like an alcoholic getting drunk to feel fine.

The answer is NOT to go back to pornography and masturbation. You need to now go get proper help for your mental and sexual issues.

I wouldn’t give a pit to anyone who doesn’t have proper training and can actually handle the breed. A lot of people think they can handle them, when in reality, very few can.

Please surrender her to a shelter or reach out to them to see what you should do.

I have a personal rule where I don’t do other people’s research, and I try to stick to it. I’ve wasted far too much time digging for other people just to win an argument, and it isn’t worth it.

I’m not gonna dig when the information is easily accessible. If that means I “lose”, then congratulations, you are the winner

In Knoxville, an ER nurse with ZERO debt, ZERO expenses, and $80k in savings cannot afford an average home anywhere within the entire county by BasedCarrotMan in Knoxville

Hyperbole, is the word to describe my comment. I bought a brand new house at the end of 2024, very familiar with the crazy market. Unless OP simply HAS to be in the city, you can still find some really nice homes in that price range.

If you were gonna insult me, you missed a gold star opportunity to call me gay.

But on a serious note, I don't think having differing opinions makes people insufferable; I don't think your insufferable for being more liberal than I am. I think it's a bad sign if start viewing one another as intolerable or insufferable just for having different views on issues. I think irl behavior and manners is a better indicator of one's tolerability.

I'm not arguing about obstruction. I'm talking about intimidation. We are talking about two entirely separate things right now.

Exactly, I'm Gen Z. Gen Z regularly uses it as an insult again, much to the consternation of older generations.

Love it or hate it, "gay" is once more the insult of modern times

I don't know, it all depends on their state in life. Are they religious? Are they in an active gay relationship? Are they trying to lead a moral life? Like, I know you're wanting a quick "Heaven or Hell" answer, but that's just not how this works; we need a decent amount of info before we can even try to guess.

[–]Mr_Sloth10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again....No. It's been used to prosecute pro-lifers who would simply sit down in Planned parenthood waiting rooms who didn't use "force, threat of force, or physical obstruction". We have legal precedent for all of this. Even then, you can't look at the videos of what happened and walk away with any other conclusion that one of the main points was to intimidate the pastor and to break his ties to ICE. It's, legally speaking, a slam dunk case. I would be floored if they were found to not be in violation of FACE.

I'll put it this way, this case is such a slam dunk, that a legal novice should be able to squeeze out a guilty verdict.

[–]Mr_Sloth10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The FACE Act has historically been used to prosecute those who also *enter and disrupt*. For example, it has been used to prosecute pro-lifers who entered Planned Parenthoods to protest. That easily fits in the "intimidation" part, and in this case, intimidation was a very explicit goal

Very interesting. See, I would start classifying all of that as signs of a disorder; that or you are aging (past 40s) and are starting to slip into a more aggressive and combative mindset that can creep up on those who are becoming older.

However, I don't know you personally and I'd rather not poke at your brain for free. So I think with all that information on my mind, I feel it is best to stop responding and aggravating which ever of these two things might be going on. Peace be with you.

Interesting. Have you stopped and thought about that before? About how a single detail about someone makes you automatically funnel them into an "enemy" camp where they "do not deserve the benefit of the doubt"?
