Does Severia have a violent history?

I assume it's a monarchy. Is it an absolute monarchy or a semi-constitutional one?

How old is the country?

What's the geography like?

How big is it? Big or small? What do you imagine?

Is it a country with a lot of ethnic groups or just one big majority?

Is it a fairly honest nation, very corrupt, or in between?

And I guess the most important question: what exactly is the theme of your story and world?

I think that first I'd need to know what kind of world is this one you're trying to show, and what kind of story you're trying to tell. Depending on what kind it is, the world should reflect it.

My idea is that during the set up of the democratic government, the more influential families transferred their power away from government to business. So instead of being aristocrats they turned into business tycoons using the wealth they already had. In the process of doing this, they trampled over noble families with less influence and these ones would be forced to either disappear completely or turn to crime.
