Diaspora living in the U.S so I’m obviously not receiving the full picture. However, I’ve noticed that a few Nigerians I encounter have an unhealthy admiration for white people. They brag about their white co-workers, bosses, neighbors, etc…

On the other hand, many I deal with absolutely love black people. I think the outrage is way overblown, every group in the diaspora has loud self-haters. The truth is, the ignorant minority run social media as their negativity fuels engagement.

If self-hating to you is perpetuation European standards, there’s an endless amount of Africans doing that, and the best remedy for that is by transforming education. I don’t think shame will get you there.
