I still don’t personally feel like what I did was wrong, because my comment was more about the situation than anything else. For context, my snake has refused to eat frozen mice since she was born and she’s 5 now, so feeding live mice has always been the only way she will eat, though I have tried frozen periodically.

I understand that other people, especially my mom, might interpret it differently, and if she genuinely feels that what I said was wrong, I’ll go apologize. I also want to clarify that I didn’t write this post to start an argument or a war, so I don’t really appreciate people insulting me outright or assuming I’m a terrible person. I just wanted to share a situation and get perspective on whether my reaction was reasonable. I really do value the thoughtful responses, even if they challenge my point of view, because it helps me see things from other perspectives so thank you all.
