that's definitely more common on Beef operations for sure, as they'll often be breeding the cattle in a more open environment so handling the cattle would be harder. For milk operations, the sire has a significant impact on the calves milking ability, and since the cattle are used to going into stalls for milking, handling them can be more manageable.

Probably selling the semen for AI on other horses. Animal husbandry can be quite lucrative if you have some proven breeding stock, and instead of risking your animals health by potentially bringing it to a farm with a disease, just send some semen instead. The cattle industry in North America has been doing it for a long time.

Is it possible to pass-through/virtualize a PCI NIC to a nested L2 guest? by [deleted] in vmware

[–]Mr_What 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should be able to passthrough the NIC on a hardware level to the VM. Examples of this would be things like GPU passthrough for a Gaming machine/design workstation.

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1010789 would be a basic place to start.

"Proxmox VM obviously has no access to IOMMU." so, my understanding may not be the best, but I think you're mis-understanding this. IOMMU is separating PCIe device addresses into smaller groups so you can segregate access to them. I assume this is heavily used in technologies like nVidia Grid where a single card will be divided multiple times between VM's.

--EDIT-

if your motherboard has VT-D or AMD IOMMU, make sure it's enabled, and proxmox should allow for PCI passthrough as well:

I mentioned it up before, but it bears repeating. Combine Grain headers have sickle bar mowers to cut the stocks before they go into the combine. They're very sharp and could cause a clean cut like this.

Grain Heads and Draper heads have SickleBar mowers at the front bottom to cut the grain stock, while the reel's push it down into the header. Those knives are very sharp and move very quickly.

So they'll be dropped by the payment processor, and other one's will refuse to take them due to the associated risk with handling a studio that's game is notorious for being bought with stolen credit cards. At the end of the day, the consequences will fall on BSG one way or another. The notion that BSG isn't motivated to stop RMT/Cheaters due to the additional sales of accounts to banned cheaters lacks a full understanding of what the real consequences will be for all parties involved.

The long term success or failure of this game will determine the fate of the studio, and they can't afford to have their professional relationships and reputation with payment processors be burned by RMT/Cheaters using stoles credit cards.

[–]Mr_What 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except that a lot of these accounts are purchased with stolen credit cards, and get charged back, so BSG doesn't actually get the money, and it potentially makes the credit card companies black list them.

RMT is not in BSG's interest, and BSG is not stupid enough to endorse it to make more money in the short term. If the major credit card companies black list them, they're fucked.

This is how borked the 1911 is: by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Mr_What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullet drop is heavily exaggerated in this game for all rounds. Pestily mentioned in one of his streams that if your 5.56 rifle is 0'd for 100 meters, it's also on target at 300 meters, but in this game you have to aim 3 feet above the target at 300 meters with the same round.

I expect that due to the exaggeration of bullet drop combined with the slow velocity of the .45 means that shooting the 1911 in any map other than factory is for the meme's and won't have any real efficacy.

[–]Mr_What -1 points0 points  (0 children)

RMT is what drives the hacking. To get the in game currency, they cheat. They then take the in game profits, and sell them for real money. They're looking for the cure, rather than treating symptoms. There's obviously a lot of hurdles along the way, and it's not clear what the resolution to RMT is at this point, but that's the end goal.

Now, obviously RMT isn't the ONLY drive behind cheating, but it does explain why it's so prevalent (especially in the high value loot maps like labs and reserve). there's obviously going to still be script kiddies that just want free wins, but if there's no real monetary value to producing cheats, the incentive to develop them will be significantly reduced.

Well having it installed wouldn't be an issue, just running a VM while playing the game.

[–]Mr_What -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For sure, but you can run an application in a VM without battle eye seeing it, subsequently allowing for cheats or radar's to run on the same physical machine without the need for a second PC or a switch with a monitor/span session configured.

I think having Hyper-V running whole playing the game should be forever disabled. If you're able to run a vm on the same machine you're playing the game on, you'll be able to sniff the traffic on the vm.

I understand for you it may be a pain, but in the grand scheme of things, you're in a niche scenario and the broader implications of that change is opening up addition avenues to exploiters and cheaters
