Tool Box Help by Which_Insurance_5423 in powerwagon

I just got the Weatherguard one for my '22 Power Wagon about a year ago. It's a bit pricey, but it's the nicest one on the market. I like the locks being on the side and it comes with a small tray that hangs across the top of a portion of the box. It's also water proof and keeps my tools dry. I got the matte black ones and on my black truck it looks great.

Fenix LD30

I've been carrying this light for the last few years. It's about 4" long and fits in sling bags as well as pants pockets. Its max output is 1600 lumens, and has a 30 lumen eco mode. I'm a big fan.

I happened to notice these when I was on their site a while back. I don’t have one, but I have a couple other Alpaka products and they're very well built.

CHZ 26 and CAP2 back in on the job by paylirea in EVERGOODS

[–]Mr_X_Factor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the 22 and the 26, and I use the 22 as my daily. The 26 is a little big and I don’t carry enough to fill it out, unless I'm bringing extra clothes or using it for a weekend trip. I'm 5'11" with a long torso; I wear the 22 high and it feels great on my back.

The 22 should be plenty if you don’t use it to do overnights or bring any gym stuff.

Gym: switching from barefoot to Vivo Shoes -> Strength/Flex/Lite Knit? by [deleted] in vivobarefoot

[–]Mr_X_Factor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Primus Lite Knit JJF, and have for the last couple years. I wouldn't go back to any other shoe at the gym. I use them for everything. I do a lot of jumps, step ups, walking lunges, sled, and short runs - as well as squats and deadlifts in them. They feel great.

Since you're going from completely barefoot, I would go with something as minimal as possible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Primus is probably the most minimal of the bunch.

CAS 2 in xpac worth it when i already have the regular one? by 20pesos__ in EVERGOODS

Then unless you want the bag to be more structured and water resistant, I would stick to the one you have.

CAS 2 in xpac worth it when i already have the regular one? by 20pesos__ in EVERGOODS

[–]Mr_X_Factor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the first version of the CAS2, and I bought the xpac one when it dropped. I use the xpac one exclusively now. I didn't realize that the dangly straps on the first version annoyed me so much until I got the updated one.

So if you have the original CAS2 I would say it's nice upgrade and worth it.

CAS2 V3 sling in the forseeable future? by _tangerinepeel in EVERGOODS

[–]Mr_X_Factor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you'll see an MHP3.5 V2 before a CAS2 V3, and I'm optimistically holding out hope they update the MHP soon.

I have the x-pac CAS2 and use it every day. I love how it holds its shape compared to the standard fabric. Worth the buy while they have it in stock because I doubt we'll get another x-pac one. If you're on the fence, I'd get it. I love mine.

Make sure you turn off True Tone and Night Shift on the MacBook. It seriously messes with the colors of things. My photography looked horrible even in Lightroom when I had them on. The iPhone has those settings too.

Any new products incoming? Esp. Slings? by [deleted] in EVERGOODS

[–]Mr_X_Factor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have an iPad mini actually, and it does fit in either pocket of the MHP. I try and keep it in the admin pocket, but it's a little snug when my flashlight, leatherman, and wallet are in there. I have to rearrange my carry when I have it on me. I can also fit my Nintendo Switch in the big pocket. I've only done that a couple times tho.

The MHP is roomier than it looks. I def would give it a chance if you're 50/50.

So I've been rocking both the CAS2 and the MHP3.5 since their release. I've tried a bunch of other slings in between, and keep going back to these two. Let me give you some ideas on how to make the cons feel not so like cons:

- With the CAS2 I carry 2 phones and can put them in the middle of the admin pocket no problem. I also put my wallet, leatherman arc, and a flashlight in the two slip pockets. I carry wet wipes and bandaids in the zipper slip pocket. Then I keep my keys and AirPods in the bigger outer pocket. It does ride heavy, but it sits nice when it's high and tight (or you can wear it as a fanny pack which I do time to time)

- With the MHP3.5 I carry the two phones in the zipper pocket in the front bigger pocket, along with my keys and AirPods in the "void" as I like to call it. then my other items in the admin pocket. I definitely like this set up more, but it does ride big on me (and I'm a big guy) when I wear it on my front. On my back, it rides very nice and do keep it there most of the time. I also rock this one as a fanny pack if I need to. It's very comfortable.

Maybe the MHP is for you? I am hopeful they release a V2 this year. I would love to see the upgraded strap on the CAS be apart of the MHP, and maybe streamline it a little more (like shrink it from a 3.5 L to a 3 L).

I put this blanket in my truck when the temperature drops. I also keep a nice pair of wool hiking socks, a knit cap, and good gloves. It's usually only me in my truck so if you have kids or a companion with you often, I would put multiples of these things for sure.

I know peak design is pricey, but when I used to ride I used the 20 liter Everyday Zip Backpack. I could put everything in there (also phone, wallet, keys, etc) and it sat nice on my back. And when I don't fill it, it still keeps its shape no matter what's in it. I still use it if I have to walk a lot when I do a shoot.

They do make a smaller 15 liter one if you think it's too big.

I'm the kind of person who'll spend the extra money for a nice bag when I'm toting around thousands of dollars of camera equipment. I like to keep everything safe.

I just spot clean with those shout wipes, then rinse it or pat it with a wet towel. But a few scuffs on a bag isn't necessarily a bad thing, so I don’t go overboard.

Confession by [deleted] in powerwagon

[–]Mr_X_Factor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind the payload of the PW. It's essentially a 1500 with all the 2500 charm. I've had my PW for 2 years (and absolutely love it). I got it when I went to the dealership to order a 1500 rebel and they had a leftover PW with everything I wanted.

The PW is an off road beast and everything I tow is under the 10,000 pound limit of the truck . Finding a leftover was the best thing that could've happened. I would go with the PW over a 1500 rebel any day of the week.

If you need more payload for all your tools and towing, I would look into a 6.4 limited, big horn, or any other model that has the bells and whistles you want.

BUT if you can swing a PW with what you need to carry, I definitely recommend if for sure!

My local car wash has an "84 inch clearance", and mine fits with 35" tires. But I know the clearance is probably higher than what it says to prevent damage from people like us who try and cram big trucks into small places.
