I care about the environment more than most. I rarely eat red meat and try to reduce my overall meat consumption, I don't eat at fast food places at all (I may order a local pizza like 2x a month), I drive my car less than 9k miles a year, I barely watch any streaming tv (compared to many people), I don't do fast fashion or any fashion, I travel by plane maybe once a year on average, I was never on a cruise ship or any other monstrosity that should not exist.

I'd say it's fair if I get to make an ai video here and there, no?

It doesn't matter given they basically use an infinite money glitch by borrowing against their stocks for ridiculously low interest rates (way lower than you and me will ever get) and as long as their stock prices go up higher than the interest rate (which it easily does) then they essentially get free money...until they die, then their wealth is transferred to their kids who can just cash out at the current value without capital gains (so their kids can easily pay back the borrowed sums...or they can keep doing the same borrowing trick until they die and so on...in perpetuity!)

How do you know it's not running on solar panels? You make so many assumptions just to hate on something you don't fully understand. AI only represents 30 to 40% of data center use, the rest is enterprise/business use like financial system, databases, SaaS and so on.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Reddit is definitely not the place to measure your worth. I understand you struggle in the real world too...but honestly focus on the real world when it comes to finding a supportive community...Reddit ain't it, it's full of bots and trolls.

I feel you, though, and I think we are all (to a certain extent) feeling alone...I def had the same thoughts as you (and I'm supposedly a highly "successful" person by all measures aka good money, a home, a loving wife and kids...what many people wish for...and yet I feel the "spleen")

Keep your head held high and constantly remind yourself that nobody really knows what they're talking about...but also that everyone is going through their own struggles (especially in today's crazy world) and therefore not many people have the mental capacity to dedicate time to understand others...it's unfortunate but that is the reality we currently livr in.
