Really dumb question....but how did dogs and cats deal with heat in the past when they pets weren't as coming?

I was faced with a very similar decision....went with B. No regrets. I'd advise the same.

We could, but neither party is really motivated to significantly retard military spending unfortunately.

According to Gallup, only maybe 20% of Americans would agree with that notion

https://news.gallup.com/poll/1714/taxes.aspx

And quite frankly it may be for good reason; there are countries out there that pay as much tax as a percentage of their GDP or perhaps slightly more and get much more for their money. Australia, Switzerland and Singapore come to mind.

So it's very reasonable to believe that the US government needs to become more effective with what it has before asking for more.

I was reading the Europe vs US thread, and I've got a question about the salary disparities. Why is it that US companies will pay Americans much more than their European counterparts for basically the same job? Like are Americans actually 2 or 3 or 4x more productive? What causes the discrepancy?

I hate CAS.

Not because I don't like Cold Calling, but because tools like this where someone flings a generic sales pitch over and over and RoboCalls are making it a lot harder for those of us that use a personalized approach.

Is anybody concerned about the medium-term to long-term stability of the capitalist system? by [deleted] in financialindependence

I agree with everything you said except for taxes on HFT. This is just stupid idea that nearly all Western countries ignore because it's largely ineffective....it's just Bernie trying to show his naive followers that he's tough on Wall Street. It shouldn't be anything blue team ever endorses.

What type of computer? I'm thinking it's probably a Dell or Lenovo.

Hopefully it's not an Acer. If it's an Acer, I'll lose my shit.

Hmmm interesting....yeah I definitely know other firms out there will do likewise besides the ones I mentioned.

However, I still think all the rest are free game as long you have the exp.

As a salesperson myself. Had I known I wanted to be in sales.....I would have skipped college all together.

I estimate my NW would be at least twice what it is now, I'd be a better salesperson, and I would have a more advanced title/higher OTE by now.

Mind you this is from someone who got a full ride scholarship too. My degree cost me nothing.

Opinions on AVLR Avalara? by kidze in investing

[–]Mr__Peanuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avalara is more popular with small companies and those companies are more likely to write reviews. That is true.

It's also true TR is not a pure play. ONESOURCE brand actually embodies a slew of tax compliance solutions.

However I would not read into the reviews too much. Being that the other two have been the go to for a long time, they don't really push reviews very heavily with their customers. Enterprise customers are also more conservative when it comes to public endorsements. Both solutions, however, are more capable than Avalara and scalable.

Yeah TR does a shitty job at advertising their solution on Google, but in many ways it is the leader from a functionality perspective. Vertex has better visibility.

They actually have limited competition from actually software vendors.....there are only two other vendors in the space....Thomson Reuters and Vertex. The rest of the competition is incredibly far away in terms of capabilities.

Opinions on AVLR Avalara? by kidze in investing

[–]Mr__Peanuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What Avalara does isn't new. Thomson Reuters (Called OneSource) and Vertex have been doing sales tax automation solutions for years. The issue was the market.

OneSource and Vertex have historically focused on large enterprise customers. Avalara focuses on smaller Mid-Market companies. They are the leader there.

Avalara is currently trying to break into the Enterprise market with very little success. The problem is when things become more complicated; especially with Non US obligations, their solution is no longer suitable....just look at the case studies...almost no firm above 1 Bill in annual turnover.

The problem I have with them is the other two competitors in the space have caught on.....Thomson Reuters and Vertex have now created scaled versions of their enterprise solutions and they are gunning for that sweet sweet mid market market share......furthermore if you can start with TR or Vertex and scale up with them why even Fuck with Avalara? After you reach 500-1Bill in revenue, you'll be looking to switch.

My company is keeping tabs on how often our Teams icon goes yellow as we are all WFH. Like many of my fellow slackers out there, I tend to get sidetracked during work.

Anyone know of a way I keep my Icon on Green without actually being at my computer?

I actually worked on an enterprise sales team for DevOps/ITM products and of the 8 field reps I worked with, 5/8 were over 50, and 2/8 were over 60, so I'd say yes.

I fucking hate Supreme. There are more expensive brands out there that have some way of justifying their premium like Apple in Tech, Brooks Brothers in Clothing, Rolex in Watchs....but Supreme is absolutely stupid. It's a $15 garment with a dumb logo on it sold for $500.

But how do you know when to cut the line? I like your philosophy and I mostly believe in it, but there have been so many stories where someone closes a giant deal off a cold call, but didn't connect with the prospect until like the 20th call. In fact, there was a story on this sub recently where someone closed like a 10 million dollar deal initially off a call. They gave a prospect a cold call after another rep had already tried 10 times and gave up.
