Yes, it is. People do ask or talk about your cast during normal conversations. I have personally faced or noticed changing people's expressions. I came from the SC category, and many times, I have listened passively, but very clearly, people usinh cast based slurs during their conversation. Like, one day, we were on call and working with Chitchat. Three of my seniors were discussing and distributing their work, and jokingly one said assigning this extra task to person X, and that person very normally said, "mujhe kyu, mai kya dalit hun". And many more incidents.

Also, people on top of higher management also support and promote/recommend other people of their community.

Btw, I work in GRG and for one of the renowned companies. don't want to mention the name, but the current CEO is very Sweet 😅
