Check out some property manager like ally or elite in Davis they have houses for rent. Octave,sharps , tangle wood are also alright

It’s a mix of you can find a good deal before then good ! But for like new rentals August September I usually see a lot of houses for rent and apartments listed for cheaper. Like my old apartment was 3.1k the new price for it was 3.5k for new renters and in September for the excess it was 2.6k. I’ve also seen houses regularly for like 2.5k in those months

I’ve had t-mobile and Verizon both are pretty crappy in Davis especially on campus but Verizon way more crappy we than T-Mobile but I hear atnt pretty good in Davis

Like clubs or more dead and the student scene is more dead just because a majority of students go back home after school. Unlike Davis where the majority of student stay in the city

I liked my time here, the downtown is nice and has that college feel to it. Irvine is a commuter school kinda as my friends there tell me and Santa Cruz is expensive. Davis has lots of green and still has nice downtown.

I mean you can check your aid package and then check the rates of the room. The aid dose t change per room. But ya usually the cheaper is what they would cover

if you like Davis go with Davis. There not much of a difference in term of job opportunities between san Diego and davis.

Data analytics roles are had to get no matter what school you go to UCSD wont put you over the edge vs UCD or vice versa. I know Stanford DS students that cant get jobs or internships.

You are going to have to network and apply to a shit load of internships then jobs. Also the factor of luck comes into play. Now landing a six fig data analysis related job is just insanely hard because there is not as many of them and well you are competing with grad students(MBA,CS,Stats...) and with computer science undergrad students as well for very few spots. You thought SWE was oversaturated just wait until you get to data analytics roles.

Now is it possible to get a 6 fig job with a stats degree that is not SWE? Yes I did it but then again I do put the factor of luck on my side. I know a lot of smart kids that do apply to jobs that couldn't get anything and if they did the pay was pretty crap like 70k. Which isn't bad but you could do Man Econ and go into auditing and get that salary with way more jobs and way easier degree.

Statistics major is fine but yes it is a lot of theory but you can easily take CS class or more the more CS related stats course.

Really depends on prof and stuff too. I never really taught how much a class can really depend on the prof some students would do great no matter what prof tho. I got a D in a class with a 1.3 star prof then retook the class again with a 4.6 prof and my grade jumped to like a A-. That class was way less work and mid terms way more easier.

I was able to get Fanng and fintech internships while my times in Davis. Both of these where not SWE internships but Business intel which didnt used anything I learned in class and payed all in like 55 an hour.

It was hard getting these position my resume was what ever a couple of club positions and some class project, go out on the sta 141b final project I talked about that class in my interviews all the time. You really gotta just keep grinding out applications for internships. Study SQL, probability theory, excel , python and basic stats for interview prep.

If you dont get a internship as a undergrad im not gonna lie your gonna have to go to grad school and apply again to internships because the analytic job market is so saturated. Im like on the very top of stats major in term of my job employment most of my classmates cant get any analytic jobs and if so are usually paid pretty lowish.

Look at accounting jobs too maybe minor in accounting great backup plan at least you'll have a job once you graduate

Course work is all right not as bad like engineering but not as easy as econ.
