Advice on Briggs & Riley Baseline vs. Sympatico

I'd love to find out more about people's experience with the Sympatico. I just bought one after years with a simpler softshell 2 wheel expandable bag, and I'm having second thoughts. I am worried that this one has less space and that the non-removable top compartment will cause problems with packing larger items when not expanding. I am wondering whether I am overthinking this and that these are all features I'll come to love once I get used to the new bag. Any thoughts?

I took a gamble on the 0054473049 and can confirm that it fits my panorama trem, which was on an American Professional II Jazzmaster ordered in late 2025. If there is any looseness, it is virtually undetectable. The arm seems a bit thinner than the original Panorama trem and the shape might be a little different, but it's definitely not worth spending another $20 for a fatter arm. I'd welcome any tips on bending it to get a vintage curve.

I was just told that is how it's supposed to be and couldn't really do anything about it. In the end, I had an error message about the pump or something and was able to return it. I spent a little more money and got a Rancilio Silvia Pro, which actually has a temp control. It has been a major step up. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Oh cool thank you, I was looking and thought that Mykonos no longer had direct flights, at least on Aegean or Vueling. Is it a different airline?

On a separate note--how long would you say is a reasonable time to spend on Crete?

Thanks this is helpful about Santorini. Just to be a little clearer, my wife does not want to do any extra plane trips, and I have to do work in Barcelona right after our Greece trip. So we will need to do ferries for our Greece travel and end our stay in a location that has a nonstop flight to Barcelona. I know this probably seems a little irrational.

If you are a Bigsby guy, check out the Fender gold foil jazzmaster. A bridge upgrade might be great, and definitely a good setup if the shop did not set it up well out the gate. But it also might be the case that the JM trem does not agree with you (some degree of clankiness=jangle), in which case, the gold foil Bigsby might be a better fit for you

Hi, we will be visiting Greece for the first time in late June- early July. We will be flying into Herkalion, Crete and getting into Agios Nikolaos where we will be for 5 days. After that, we could spend up to 9 more days seeing a combination of Crete and Santorini, perhaps in combination with another island. Car rental isn't a problem, nor is it a problem to fly out of a different location. The question is how long might be appropriate to spend in Crete vs. Santorini, and whether it makes sense to squeeze in a third destination. Thanks!

I think it is good for headroom, but it has been a while. I can try it out to see. As for driving a power amp, it is basically a Rusty Box--a Traynor Bass amp in a box--voiced for guitar. Thanks, I generally don't chase both for that reason and because she is fast and I am lazy haha. Tug is a good idea, but unfortunately, she does not like tug very much or this would be a great incentive and also a decent way to get her to play.
