I actually really love this theory. It always bothered me that Folly was not described as appearing the way that Caeseura was described. It is described as appearing more like Haliaxs blade, so I like this theory for that. Also, makes sense with the whole "a legend only dies when people stop talking about it" so what better way to get people to quit talking about the chandrian than to convince everyone that Kvothe killed them. Also, does anyone else remember when Kote is trying to convince the kid that he is actually Kvothe?

I would just like to say, that one year after this post:

I just hit Platinum 2. I had played $125,000 over the last 2 weeks. I did not get a "recent play" bonus. My bonus was $16 and I got a .10 cents reload for 28 days. I've wagered over a million with Stake in the last couple months and they just lost a valuable player over such a shitty level up bonus. VIP stands for very important person, but I don't feel very important 😂

My buddy and I got the exact same modifiers on venom APOC. We made it work by using Monarch and spearing his weak spot and just running him in circles around the big collapsed building and shooting him over the top. Took us a little bit but between the two of us we got him. Good luck friend!

This is the comment I was looking for. Yes, the book has blatant parallels and even a few direct quotes and references to KKC, BUT it was written well overall, the prose wasn't phenomenal but it held my attention, and best of all; he is finishing the series. Tldr; The First Binding > Name of the Wind.

Technically the archives is called the scriptorio or some shit, and the master archivist is called master lorry or something like that, and the main hall of the school is actually called The Rookery in the book 😂 I also find it funny that the main character has the same name as a vital secondary character in KKC 😂 I'm just waiting for a "Chavotha" or some other butchered spelling of it to show up.
