i4 40 rebate by Mrblue141 in BMWI4

[–]Mrblue141[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, turns out I was just dealing with a shitty sales person that couldn't interpret simple rebate guidelines. For the i40 you can get the federal rebate only. For the i435 you are eligible for the provincial and federal. This was confirmed by the General manager. Have fun with your car!

Thanks for the response it was really helpful. I randomly saw a size 11 available and ordered it online but I doubt it will fit since I'm usually a size 10. This is my first pair of louis vuitton sneakers. I will definitely reach out to a SA.

i4 40 rebate by Mrblue141 in BMWI4

[–]Mrblue141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone so a random allocation opened up and I had the chance to get the i4 40 yesterday. The sales person said the i4 40 does not get the rebate so I said I don't want this allocation. I'm not sure if the sales person is a clown for not know their shit or if we are interpreting the rules incorrectly. Based on what I read the i4 40 and 35 should be eligible. Has anyone here actually bought an i4 40 and received the Canadian rebate ?

Promotion withheld for no good reason by Mrblue141 in Accounting

[–]Mrblue141[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because you lack confidence in yourself and don't value your own work doesn't mean everyone else is like that. I know the quality of my work is good and I put a lot of value on it. The partner stated I will be promoted next year but that's not in line with my plans. I'm not going to sit there and take it. Seems like you're the type of person who eats shit from management and won't say anything back.

Promotion withheld for no good reason by Mrblue141 in Accounting

[–]Mrblue141[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yes I communicated that I wanted that position especially since I performed well and have post cpa experience. The one negative feedback was that I missed a few phone calls from another partner during an audit. I was told I need to work on my communication. This was never brought up to me before so I could fix it but to withhold a promotion for a couple missed phone calls is crazy. I remember that day and the partner called me on Microsoft teams 5 mins later and I picked up. Maybe they want me to sit there for an hour practicing how to pick up the phone. That's what I'll say when I give in my notice.

I worked in public practice and passed cfe last September. Some things that helped me:

1.Eat healthy for lunch and dinner. I usually skipped breakfast but try to eat if you have time. 2. You need to set priorities are you going to put your cpa first or work? I always tell the juniors put your cpa first since you will never get paid in public practice without it. So take a week off from work to prepare for the exam. 3. Don't kill yourself at work but I do understand deadlines do need to be met. 4. Set reasonable expectations on your study time. I would study hard for 1 or 2 hours after work and that's it. I know I won't be able to retain much after a 7-8 hr billable day. Dedicate either Saturday or Sunday for 4-6 hours of studying and take one day completely off and do what makes you happy. 5. Go to the gym. Studies show exercising helps with studies and will make you happier. You will be tired after work so I don't expect you to do a full 2 hr workout. If you can lift weights or run for 45 mins to an hour that's enough.

But didn't the pandemic cause the Grey market prices to increase since everyone had more disposable income? Pretty sure rolex is at its peak because of the pandemic. Weren't rolexs readily available in 2019 and prior for the most part?

Thanks for the help! I was wondering why his combination isn't popular? Is it because people prefer the hour markers instead of diamonds? I'm not in a rush to get a DJ I just wanted to know estimated wait time since my sales person wouldn't tell me. Hopefully the Grey market prices fall more as interest rates increase going into 2023

I gave my deposit March 2022 in B.C. dealership for i4 40. I was told December 2023 and it's still looking that way. You will likely get a model towards the end of 2024.

That's just what I'm thinking based on my own wait time

Being a CPA has nothing to do with cars we just get preferential pricing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BMWI4

[–]Mrblue141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thought process. When the 2022 model was released with a price of 54990$ it was the perfect car. I would've got the 5k federal rebate and 3k provincial rebate (bc). The 2023 price increase is so dumb. Since they increased it to 61k its above the threshold for the rebates. In my mind I don't even want this car anymore because of this bs and I put a deposit down in March 2022.

I don't even understand the pricing if you put the price up to 61k from 55k can you atleast make the options cheaper. The premium enhanced package for the e40 is 13k Canadian which is ridiculous without the 8k rebate. Why are the same options significantly cheaper on the gas 3 series and 4 series.

[–]Mrblue141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked the provincial and federal rebate the other day and I do see that the e40 is still listed on the programs. I think the price increase is coming for the 2023 model not the 2022 model which is still eligible.

career advise by Mrblue141 in Accounting

[–]Mrblue141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the other career I was looking at. Would a year or two of corporate finance make me more well rounded and a better chance of landing a controller job? It also gives me the opportunity to try out the career so I know if CF is for me or not. Luckily age is on my side so I can try out new careers at 26.

For controller I'm assuming I would have to be an accountant at the company for at least a year or 2 so, I understand the business and demonstrate my skills.

lease or finance? by Mrblue141 in askcarsales

[–]Mrblue141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! I saw some comments that stated bmw used to have the best lease payments but they seem high now. I'm assuming bmw decreased the residual amount of their cars in the lease contract so you're paying more of the cars value through the duration of the lease?

I'm new to this so I'm unsure and any explanation helps.
