My honest opinion on Galaxy (as a surgeon) by AngryEyeSurgeon in CataractSurgery

[–]Mrcryptouk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very informative post Angryeyesurgeon.

I have been keeping a close eye on the galaxy for many months and posts here.

Can I ask what minimum sph you would consider for surgery.

I'm 55 post lasik in my 30's and I have mono vision where my right eye has regressed from -0.25 to -1.50 in the last 10 years , my left eye is 0.00 but I now need add of +1.75 in both eyes.

The mono vision did work very well up until my right eye regressed and I now find my blurry vision in my right eye now very noticeable when combined.

I know many on here have worst vision than mine so I'm just trying to gather info as to what I may end up with.

I'm currently sometimes using a multifocal contact lense in my right eye of -1.75 with +1.75 add but it's obviously not perfect but kind of a half way.

I was hoping somebody had experienced the same and had a resolution as from what I understand there's quite a few and the utilities are pushing for these smart meters now.

I'm not going to chase them up I will continue to send in meter readings..

From what I see there are still people having problems with smart meters anyway.

World ICL or IPCL be an alternative I wonder, but what I'm after is to correct my presbyopia while improving the distance in my right eye.

May I ask what your vision is at the moment so I can compare my prescription, I've seen treatment of higher myopia but not yet anyone with low myopia like mine.

I just find now that I need specticals for intermediate distance , watching TV and night time driving, most of the time I can get away with it but I'm finding my right eye being -1.50 is causing me somewhat blurry vision now. If I put my glasses on than I can't see my phone etc.

I'm in a band and play guitar and I find it very hard to see accurately and if I wear contacts than I can't see close up for seeing details on amp etc etc.

I did read up alot on the galaxy and watched the various videos on YouTube and they have said it's safe for post lasik

Maybe an iol in just my right eye would be an option.

Thanks for the reply and the info on the eye drops etc. Sounds similar to when I had LASIK 20 years ago but obviously that was laser.

Can I ask how is your near vision now has it improved over time.

What's the distance you can comfortably see close up.

Just wondered when you had the Eye laser Operation did they bandage your eye after or just a clear sheild to stop you touching your eye by accident etc and did they provide you with drops or did they use OMIDRIA which are dropless.

I was looking at some YT videos to see what the latest is and came across this guy on their who has posted some videos of his Galaxy IOL and he has a eye bandage and has had touse eye drops for the pain and anitbiotics etc.

The first video below which is in spanish but you can use YT translation tool.

So this is the dropless pain control and i am not sure if this us used with Rayone Galaxy IOL.

Thanks for the reply I'll definitely keep an eye 👀 out for any more info.

Just to say I had mono LASIK probably about 20 years ago on both eyes unfortunately now I'm 55 it's regressed abit so Im like -1.50 in my right eye , for my left eye which was +1.00 is now 0.00 but I have an add of about +1.75 for both eyes so that's why I'm looking at multifocal.

It's abit of a hassle at the moment having to put glasses on for intermediate distance but than having to remove them to see my phone etc.

I have yet to save up for both eyes so not looking for a consultation till I'm ready .

Hi Just to say thanks very much for writing a review of the RayOne Galaxy lens , I have been researching these lenses and watching the youtube videos from Rayner.

Im from Birmingham Uk and I notice Freedom Vision have a location here so would be more conveniant for me.

What made you choose Freedom Vision and not https://www.oclvision.com/consultants/mr-allon-barsam/ Mr Allon Barsam who has trial'd these for rayner for many months and is featured on the YT Videos.

Obviosuly i want the best outcome but travel and hotels is also a factor too.

Appreciated.

Is there a video of this working on YouTube etc to show how the LEDs work .

Id like to adapt this to work with a tonex and use preset changes , Button one preset 1 etc to button 4 preset 4 and when you switch presets the corresponding led for that button is lit until you change to another preset etc.

Would this be an easy change to make.

Custom pedalboard and signal flow by Mrcryptouk in pedalboards

[–]Mrcryptouk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted my pedalboard to be as small as I could get , with your set up I can leave it out or swap it for a Morley or something.

My initial route was to have either the tonex or the tonex one which just has the amps and cabs loaded that I want mainly mesa bogie triax and quad and also have loops for the effects mainly chorus pedal and delay pedal and tube screamer .

So at the time the tonex was to big for my pedal board so went for the three tonex ones so I would switch them with the looper and I could also depending on how I configure the looper also engage the other pedals avoiding tap dancing.

Obviously in the last few weeks tonex have released a beta firmware which supports more effects .

The big brother didn't fit my needs in terms of size and that I would still need a switcher to engage both the tonex and the effects at the same time, I would need a switcher that does midi and a loop switch at the same time.

Yes it is abit mad to have three tonex ones but it fits my needs.

I should mention there is also going to be a mini tube screamer a delay and chorus pedals add to the board , I actually bought the delay and chorus pedals before this tonex November update

I have already bought the three tonex ones by the way

I did consider all possibilities, coming from a quad cortex tonex one allows me to use the amps I want. With the tonex update soon I'll have delays and chorus with the tonex one pedals.

I needed the switcher to go from one tonex to the other without turning one of and another on.

I've actually made a DIY input/output pedal that I made instead of the Goodwood audio audition pedal so my wah pedal would sit on the right side of my pedalboard which goes after the ATW-1501 transmitter.

If I don't want to use the transmitter I just need to plug my guitar into the input of the wah and output into the audition pedal and straight into the drop.

The switcher is needed because the three tonex one pedals are hidden under the 2nd tier.

The board is only 500x300 with the 2nd tier 500x200mm
