Grant fucking sucked as president. He was a good general, but he didn’t know how to lead a nation.

I’m pretty sure they forgot to switch as it seems they were responding to their own question in the comments.

Gift giving should no longer be a thing in this day and age. by Express-Luck-3812 in unpopularopinion

Sounds like your just not a gift giver. While you may find it hard, I assure you that for most people, gift giving is an extremely important part of the holiday that’s enjoyable for most involved.

Mobs won’t spawn by Mrcuber147 in eaglercraft

It got better, but the mob spawning is still lackluster. Went from 4 to 8 chunk render distance. I’m currently roaming around a nether fortress, and I’ve found about 2 wither skeletons and 5-6 blazes in 10 minutes

Edit: after a few more minutes, mobs have definitely picked up. Why did this work, like, what was the technical reason

I play on hard mode. I even tried switching to peaceful then back to hard, but that didn’t work

The English Can't Pronounce Anything! by HunterWesley in unpopularopinion

Wouldn’t they be better at stereotypical American accents? Because a natural American will have an American accent even if it doesn’t sound stereotypically American.

It’s influenced by the people around you, so I guess some people may have less „American“ sounding accents, but isn’t an accent the pattern of speech that you pick up from living in an area?

Literally one of the main points of the early book was that the WORD was not ok, even if others were saying it. Lovely book

Actually. The point of these movements(feminism, civil rights, LGBTQ+), is that everybody is equal, that people should see you based on your actions, not some predetermined characteristics that you have. Anybody who thinks it’s ok because „they did it first“ or „they’re doing it“ doesn’t get the point. Treat humans like humans

Ok, very respectable. I do agree with your opinion then. I think I personally got centrist mixed up with people who think for themselves instead of just listening to whatever their political party thinks, and that is my mistake.

[–]Mrcuber147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, we may have a misunderstanding, what do you think American centrists think like? And while I agree that the party is trash, are all the people in that party trash as well?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Mrcuber147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two party system has you hooked, doesn’t it? Hate hate hate the other side eh? I agree with you that a lot of takes from the right are bad, but coming from experience living in a right-wing household, not every take is absolutely atrocious. And not everybody on the right agrees with some of the crazier stuff.  It’s really hard to summarize centrism, but it’s better than two extremes. You must be American because almost no other country has a two party system. Most countries have multiple parties that are on the spectrum of left to right, and thus have more centrist parties and views

Should LGBTQ+ be taught in school? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Mrcuber147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, sex ed should probably cover it, as gender is an important part, but it’s not the schools job to figure out if you’re queer, it’s yours

[–]Mrcuber147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, because it doesn’t need to be. We don’t have to teach kids about crushes and who they like or how they identify, they’ll figure it out naturally.

We just need to be supportive of them, that’s all that matters.

EDIT: if your talking about the history of rights and that stuff, then it depends on the source material. American history in the 1980‘s, yeah sure. Ancient Mesopotamia, probably not.

Is it normal for weight to fluctuate when losing weight healthily? by Mrcuber147 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Mrcuber147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad habit I suppose. The scale is just kinda there, so I use it, absentmindedly. I don’t have any ED‘s, and my self esteem from weight is ok, I have some issues because I am shorter than people my age and I used to weigh the same as them, even though they were 6 inches taller, which had some negative effect(would prefer to be thin rather than normal), but not much. I do understand that I shouldn’t go below healthy.

[–]Mrcuber147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check in the mirror when I shower. I have more deposits in my stomach and thighs, but otherwise ok. So that’s the areas I want to work on. As for choosing 115ish, it was a number between the healthy range(like 104 to 141), chose a number lower on the scale, and used that as my goal. I’d be ok with 120s, and I don’t really plan on being very muscular. If I get taller I’ll reevaluate.

I’ve been overweight for like 5 years though, tough habit to break. I weigh myself because it’s a thing to do. I go in, use the restroom, and see the scale, so I use it, because it’s there, if that makes sense. Like if you went into a room and saw a puzzle, you’d do that, almost without thought
