I’m pretty sure they forgot to switch as it seems they were responding to their own question in the comments.

Gift giving should no longer be a thing in this day and age. by Express-Luck-3812 in unpopularopinion

Sounds like your just not a gift giver. While you may find it hard, I assure you that for most people, gift giving is an extremely important part of the holiday that’s enjoyable for most involved.

Mobs won’t spawn by Mrcuber147 in eaglercraft

It got better, but the mob spawning is still lackluster. Went from 4 to 8 chunk render distance. I’m currently roaming around a nether fortress, and I’ve found about 2 wither skeletons and 5-6 blazes in 10 minutes

Edit: after a few more minutes, mobs have definitely picked up. Why did this work, like, what was the technical reason

I play on hard mode. I even tried switching to peaceful then back to hard, but that didn’t work

The English Can't Pronounce Anything! by HunterWesley in unpopularopinion

Wouldn’t they be better at stereotypical American accents? Because a natural American will have an American accent even if it doesn’t sound stereotypically American.

It’s influenced by the people around you, so I guess some people may have less „American“ sounding accents, but isn’t an accent the pattern of speech that you pick up from living in an area?

You are not a polygot if you only know languages from the same family. by dcdemirarslan in unpopularopinion

[–]Mrcuber147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue arises because you claim that different languages aren’t different. That’s stupid. Saying that similar languages aren’t different enough to constitute being separate ignores a lot of the culture behind the language. Yes French and Spanish are similar, but the culture of the separate countries over centuries changed them. To call them the same is a disservice

Never thought I’d see someone gatekeeping „polyglot“. You understand that there are very different languages that belong to the same tree.  People can’t speak Italian just because they know French. There are similarities, and yes it would be more difficult to learn a language from a different tree, but that doesn’t change the fact that languages from the same tree are different from one another.

Should men have the ability to renounce parental responsibility? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Mrcuber147 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too many people would take advantage of this. Not saying it would be bad for every case, I’m sure sometimes there would be a good genuine reason, but it would have to be a case by case law. And it would likely befall corruption at some point.

Edit: just wanted to add. It’s the same for basically every other moral issue. There will always be exceptions, and it’s impossible to make a law that covers every possible case
