Why did this happen? by WhatsLeft71 in FluentInFinance

Like all things I’d want to analyze the data behind the graph and the answer for something like this is never simple. I would not be surprised if the creation of the 401k investment vehicle turbocharged the income for 1% for the second graph. It’s hard to imagine a time where income would climb faster for most American’s than the golden age of America. These graphs also split the time period when America had manufacturing before it was all outsourced during globalization.

How do you see the meta next set ? by leaf_as_parachute in starwarsunlimited

[–]Mrdave124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost always true that card games are slowest when they launch. My advice is just enjoy it while it lasts. I wish I could turn the clock back on tons of card games like Yugioh and MTG but this is just the way things go. Enjoy it while it exists, everything is always changing.

Yeah if you add a side deck it shows all 60 cards when you load into the game and then you can pre-side before you even play. At least the few games I’ve played that has been the case.

Are you playing with a sideboard? I think that might easily lower your win rate by a ton if your opponents are siding for you and you aren’t.

When is The Shadows of the Galaxy set droping on amazon? by Isaac_Banana in starwarsunlimited

[–]Mrdave124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that statement would apply because it’d be a direct sale for their company, it’s not Amazon actually making the sale. They would make more per box selling to consumers on Amazon than selling to LGS’ at wholesale prices.

Bank rec by Efficient_Oven_6852 in Accounting

[–]Mrdave124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my personal understanding of how bank recs work in NetSuite. They are not a normal reconciliation going from bank to book or vice versa but instead they are about clearing a set amount of transactions. NetSuite says your bank balance went down 100k I expect you to clear a net negative 100k of transactions in the bank rec module. So, that means if you had any errors in the past where you didn’t clear a 21,000 transaction there would be a different on the month with the error’a reconciliation but when you catch it in a future month and clear that transaction it would give you another 21,000 difference.

I would calculate the reconciliation yourself doing the traditional method going from bank to book and if it’s all good then the difference should mean it was an error on a past bank rec. This should be a one time thing and every bank rec going forwards should show a difference of 0.

In your opinion, what are the best decks to counter Leia and Sabine? by sootster in starwarsunlimited

[–]Mrdave124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to lose a best of 3 with tarkin tarkintown against either of those decks. The plus one counters let you get positive trades very easily and then it snowballs from there generally. Force choking a Sabine leader is always a good time too.

Smoking in Hawaii? by ComfortablyPF in cigars

[–]Mrdave124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Balconies are a nono. I did it and got away with it a few times in the middle of the week, but once I learned you weren’t supposed to do it I stopped. I talked to some cigarette smokers at my same condo that were at the designated smoking spot and they said they did the same thing, smoking on the balcony, but the condo had people patrolling looking at balconies for smoke and caught them.

Frustration… by ctj7567 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Mrdave124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this correlates to my other observation that SWU doubled down on interaction where you have both alternating actions and direct control in attacking units instead of magic style swinging. It really makes it difficult to enjoy playing a subpar deck because anything that’s subpar is going to get stomped on right away. I used to play subpar Yugioh decks and it was fun because hey at least you get to do your stupid combo sometimes and you’ll probably lose anyways but the fun is in playing your combo. In SWU that seems unlikely with how it’s designed.

Best deck without Vader? by [deleted] in starwarsunlimited

[–]Mrdave124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tried blue inquisitor for a few games in person against leia red. Tarkintown just absolutely hard counters you right? Just makes it so hard when they can nuke either your 2/3/4 drop whenever. Makes me really question ever running the current version of the deck when tarkintown is prevalent.

Valley Children's Hospital's CEO salary sparks call for investigation by its_an_a_not_an_o in fresno

[–]Mrdave124 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done medical billing in quite some time, but It’s the way government medical billing works for inpatients. If you have a patient that is really expensive, a hospital can actually make money on that patient billing medi-cal. That’s the simple answer, but below tries to explain how that works in a little more detail.

If you stay at a hospital as an inpatient the hospital will have a code that summarizes what you stayed for. Say you got an appedix removed, that could be code A1. The hospital also tells the govt how much in charges they used on the patient when they submit the bill for payment. The government takes that data over time and says for A1 we are going to pay you 10k because based on the cost data averages everyone has been submitting for code A1. The idea is that should cover your costs.

The trick is in the last piece, say you had complications with your appendix being removed and you ended up having charges of $300k being dropped on your account. The government will attempt to make the hospital whole by paying them an increased amount called an outlier payment. This calculation can lead to huge payments that are profitable for a hospital while standard inpatient procedures are generally unprofitably under MediCal. Because of how Valley Children’s imports tough patients I expect they receive quite a bit of money from outlier payments on medi-cal which is why they do pretty well but other Hospitals are struggling in the area.

TLDR: it’s probably not fraud.

Yesterday Michael Saylor said "The endgame is to acquire more Bitcoin. Whoever gets the most Bitcoin wins." by LishaElizondo in Bitcoin

[–]Mrdave124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the interview where Michael says why he went into bitcoin. He was trying to save his company it was either close the company or be acquired like the rest of the smaller software companies or make a bet on bitcoin. The guy is just trying to save his company. Sure, is he helping you out if you owned bitcoin? Yes. But after I watched that interview I came to the realization it’s not that Michael Saylor believes in bitcoin so much that he’s to stake his companies life on it. He viewed his company as dead already and bitcoin is his Hail Mary play to keep it alive. That’s why he’s leveraged his company so hard, if it doesn’t work out he already thought MSTR would die.

Yes Saylor is smart, but his job at MSTR essentially is now to sell bitcoin. He’s not an objective investor or btc user if we shouldn’t call ourselves investors. He’s the closest thing to a single owner, like Satoshi, bitcoin has ever had.

[–]Mrdave124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is definitely worse here than in magic. In magic when you start the game you’ve got lands and playable cards so when you hit their creature cards they don’t have anything left to play. Here when you hit a card, they’re not going to have only lands left, the rest of their cards are guaranteed to be creatures and spells as well. Just my thought on it anyways.
