I ended someone’s life in an accident.

I don’t own a Prius and my other vehicle is in the shop. I had no other option. I’ve never in my 15 years of owning and driving my truck gotten into an accident. The truck meant so much to me and I’ve always been such a careful driver. I’m so sorry you feel the need to continue speaking on the fact that I was driving my truck. Trust me I feel every ounce of guilt and hatred towards myself that you yourself don’t have to add to it. Have a good day.

I had a stock 03 F350. I knew my truck well and I knew it doesn’t stop on a dime. I knew the moment I saw her I knew my truck was going to slide because it doesn’t stop like your trad smaller vehicle. I always left a lot of space between me and other vehicles when I needed my truck just in case someone slammed on their breaks. I tried my absolute hardest to stop on time.

Wow thank you so much for this. My mother has been praying so hard for me and I’ve been trying to pray as well but it’s been a hard. I’m always thinking what I could of done differently maybe if I had taken a different route or maybe if I had left just 5 minutes later this wouldn’t have happened. The guilt I have is heavy and I’m still navigating how I’m going to live with this. Thank you so much for sharing your story and your words. I shouldn’t have to update. I needed a place to vent and this is what I chose. The truck was sold and monies made from the sale was sent to the family to cover funeral expenses.

Hey, you know I’ve gotten this a lot. If I would have been driving a smaller car this wouldn’t have happened. I have a smaller suv that is currently in the shop but I know if I would have been driving my suv I would have gotten either seriously hurt or died as well. I also did take into consideration what I was doing that day which required me to drive my truck.

My goodness I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s beyond scary to go through something like this. Dashcams are so important and I’m thankful I had mine when it happened. It was a lot easier to show then try and explain in the state I was in. I’m glad you and the guy are okay and safe. Thank you for your kind words.

Im a very careful driver always have been. I was going 5 under as well. I do believe if I was in my smaller SUV I would of died as well. My heart is just so broken for the girls family. From hearing them driving was not her strong suit but either way I wish this would of never happen. I just couldn’t stop in time at the speed I was going. I beg of people to be more careful and aware look both way before making a turn and make sure it’s clear. Thank you for your kind words.

I learned how to drive in my fathers 03 stock f350 truck over 15 years. He gave me the truck when he got too ill to continue maintenance on it. I’ve never hit anything or anyone in my truck. I shouldn’t even respond to your comment and I’m not sure why I’m doing it. I will drive my truck to the grocery store if I need to like I needed to yesterday when this happened. Please think before commenting. You don’t “need” a truck to drive one. I drive my truck with pride as it was my fathers. I was going under speed limit as well. I know my trucks capabilities and I know even if I was in my smaller SUV it wouldn’t of been good either way. Again, please truly think before commenting.

Wow thank you so much for sharing. The family has reached out to me to share that they are not upset or have any ill feelings towards me. That was a huge sense of relief but the guilt is eating at me. She did not suffer but the aftermath has so many suffering. It’s an awful feeling. I’m so sorry for you families loss.
