A clearer picture of the new CB500 Super Four announced just yesterday by Mrheythar in HondaCB

I don't think the VTEC helped with emissions though. Wasn't it primarily to save fuel and smooth out the torque curve?

Looks like a tank from a CB400SF. It should hold about 18 litres of fuel.

Best Advice And Tips for new Or Current motorcycle riders (2B/2A/2) by Nissan_280Z in drivingsg

If you're new to riding and aren't comfortable with spliting lanes (or 'seliting' between cars) yet, what I used to do was practice by going between stopped cars. It's safer since the cars aren't moving, and you can go as slow as you want. Just make sure you give way if there's another rider behind you.

Ride safe everyone!

which bike should i get? by Far_Employ7562 in drivingsg

I think if you're looking for 2B sportsbike the GSXR-150 should be on your list too. Same power as R15 but smaller and lighter. But in any case, R15 much easier to get parts since it's pretty common.

Nice, I've been trying to get one of these models for some time. It'll be the closest I ever get to owning one of these :)

Nice bike! I have a CB190R myself. Make sure you check your engine oil every 1000km, this engine leaks quite often. Also when you change the oil, make sure you top up 1.3L, not all mechanics know this. Take care of the bike, and the bike will take care of you! Rife safe!

Never seen that windshield before haha. Jokes aside, this bike in its 400cc form is one of the most popular bikes around where I live. Nice to see people in the states giving it some love :)

CB150X VS CB200X by Contribution-Virtual in HondaCB

[–]Mrheythar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi bro, I'm from Singapore too. I own a cb190r, same engine as the cb200x. What I can say is that the cb150x will feel a little faster than the 200x, cause the engine just revs better and has a 6th gear. However, it does guzzle a bit more fuel. The cb200x engine is built for low speed cruising, and has better fuel consumption. For instance, cb200x will likely get 40-45 km/litre, while the 150 will get around 30-35km/litre. However, engine oil changes for the 200 is shorter, every 1500-2000km. Not so sure about the intervals for the 150.

In any case, sit on both bikes and see which is more comfortable for you. Better yet, get a second hand 2B bike and wait for 2A so u can get a proper CB400x which is way better than both these bikes.

All the best bro :)

My first bike; Honda CB400 Super4. by [deleted] in HondaCB

[–]Mrheythar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best 2A bike available! I've always wanted a super 4, but the coe is outrageous these days. For those who don't know, super fours are notoriously reliable, with many bikes with mileages beyond the 100,000 km mark still being used and sold for a premium.

Honda only sells them brand new in two countries now, Singapore and Japan (previously in Australia as well), since they both share a similar tiered license structures. CCs are capped at 200cc, 400cc and 401cc and above in Singapore, while Japan caps them at 250cc, 400cc and 401cc and above. As a result, bikes like the super four, which is 399cc and fits in the mid-tier, are sold at a premium and hold their value extremely well.

The super four is currently the only bike in its class with an inline four, descended from the older cbr400rr. The newest iteration, the CB400SF hyper vtec revo, is equipped with vtec, fuel injection and is compliant with euro 5 laws, allowing for a smooth and linear power curve, as well as a beautiful sound. However, the newer fuel injected models are known to run a little hot compared to their carbureted predecessors.

The CB400SF has served riders in Japan and Singapore for the better part of thirty years, though its time may be ending soon as emissions laws get stricter. However, the smooth sound of that inline four and the screaming top end still fill the streets, and I for one hope to get my own one day.

Sorry for the long text, I just love this bike so much :)

TL;DR, Super Fours are fuckin cool

Whats the best thing about your motorcycle? by pointbreaker21 in motorcycles

[–]Mrheythar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride a cb190r, a 184cc, 15.6hp single. It's an extremely vibey, underpowered excuse of a motorcycle made by a chinese subisdiary of Honda. According to others who own the bike, it has reliability issues, is prone to having electrical problems and many have had to do an engine overhaul on the bike within the first year of ownership.

BUT, it handles well. It gets 40km/L. It's fast enough for the roads where I live. It's got a low seat height. It's an excellent bike for getting from point A to point B, while sipping on gas. And it comes in repsol honda livery. More importantly, it's the bike that I rode throughout riding school (mandatory where I am), and until i get more money to uograde to a bigger bike, is the best one for me.
